Anhydrit is a superrare mineral that has almost exclusively been found at Swiss tunneling sites, the Simplon Tunnel in the early 20th century and the recent NEAT Tunnel.
This specimen is for sure one of the very best pieces of this species ever found! Size and excellent aesthetics combined are just unbeatable! The clear, purplish crystals are 3-dimensionally arranged around a dominant main crystal that's 3.3 cm thick! The whole specimen is sugar-coated with sparkling stilbite crystals that make for a very much unique and lovely appearance.
This is an exceptional piece of best aesthetics and superb crystal quality that is simply iconic for the mineral!
129 gramm of pure gold is dramatically developed as a 3-dimensional arborescent sculpture! The whole specimen is rich in details that sparkle with intensive yellow color. Hoppered fishbone growth, grape-like extensions and branching twigs of solid, shiny gold. This is for sure one of the most striking specimens I have seen coming from this locale that has quickly come to fame for its high quality gold specimens. 3-dimensional development, intensive color and a shimmering surface are trademarks of the locale and of this specimen in particular. Have a look on our video to see the full beauty of this brilliant gold!
This rubellite is huge and brilliant example from this classic locale, that strikes not only with its dominant size but also with quality and aesthetics. The single deep red crystal is over 6 cm on edge and perfectly developed on all sides with a distinct pointed termination. The luster is especially good at the front side, showing sparkling striations. The color is an intensive raspberry red that's easily lit even at roomlight. The already striking aesthetic is much enhanced by some contrasting white mica. The whole specimen is complete and in best condition. An excellent piece that shows outstandingly high quality for the locale!
This is a large matrix-specimen of purple fluorite that is totally impressive in size and a real showpiece! I have seen quite some great pieces coming from Zogno but nothing even remotely as imposing as this fine specimen. As is characteristic for those fluorite this piece shows a color change depending on the light-temperature. The heavily etched crystal shines in a dark vibrant purple at warm light or intensive blue at colder light. The white contrasting matrix is what makes this piece so very special as usually these pieces do not come with matrix. Very attractive in person, exceedingly rare and in great condition this is a real masterpiece in person!
A single sharp and well developed azurite crystal of best electric blue color is perched on a grey matrix of just perfect proportion! This is simply textbook, nothing less! The crystal is rather large with 3.4 x 2.3 x 1.8 cm in size and completely flawless with a beautifully structured and lustrous surface. At some spots you see a beginning pseudomorphous transformation into green malachite which adds an interesting and pretty aspect. An outstanding specimen of uniquely distinctive aesthetics and absolutely pristine crystal quality from the famous location of Milpillas!
When thinking about world-class dioptase it always comes down to one lacality: Tsumeb. No other location has produced anything near as good as the rich emerals green crystals that have been found at that famous mine. One major example is the dioptase we are presenting here. This specimen holds one large, gemmy and lustrous, richly emerald green dioptase crystal that is surrounded by smaller side-crystals and white calcite. The crystal is doubly terminated and incredible 2.7 cm long! Size and quality of this specimen are absolutely overwhelming in person. It is virtually perfect with just one barely discernible ding at one of those very sharp edges. Dioptase crystals rarely reach a size 2 cm, making this one a sheer giant. A real killer in size and brilliance!
Large ocathedral fluorite of characteristic pink color are grouped on a dark, contrasting matrix of sphalerite, galena and pyrite. The strong contrast and the superb crystal quality are absolutely fantastic and perfectly arranged on this masterpiece. This piece is out of the one-time important 1981 find. At the center of those transparent crystals you can perceive a faint spot of blurry green which instantly identifies this piece as a Huanzala fluorite as opposed to similar looking Alpine fluorite. The backside is mostly crystallized with some contacts but no damage. Brilliant luster, best condition and outstanding aesthetics are combined on this spectacular cabinet-size piece of prime importance.
The aesthetics of this piece is absolutely unique, featuring two opposing crystals on characteristic brownish matrix with smaller quartz. Especially the larger main crystal is absolutely astonishing. Massy and with great luster, wonderfully modified and structured. Anyhow, its also the smaller crystal that adds very much to the overall beauty of this piece, making it even more interesting. A rutile-duality on matrix as I have not seen one alike. A matchless piece with a very distinct outline that miraculously catches the eye.
White dolomite-matrix winds around a large fluorite cube like a snake with a head of massive crimson sphalerite. The fluorite holds highest quality with an especially dark purple outer zone around a pinkish core. It has a contact at the back but is otherwise complete. Its surface is utterly remarkable and worth a closer look on the video or in person. This specimen is crystallized all over and in very good condition. A superb combination-piece of contrast, quality and aesthetics!
I have seen a couple of fine Chromian Tourmaline over the years but this specimen is just breathtaking and for sure the best one I ever came across. With almost 6 cm in diameter this piece lies heavily in hands and loses nothing of its beauty when turned around. It is a perfect floater, a short doubly terminated tourmaline cluster of exceptional shape. There are gapfills at the frontside but which are totally acceptable on a masterpiece like this. One major aspect about this specimen is the fantastic bright green color that virtually explodes from this piece at direct illumination. I got this piece from an old collection in Vienna and I am very happy about this. The former owner did many trips to Tanzania himself but never layed hands on another comparable piece. A world-class piece of pure brilliance!
Highly aesthetic and stunningly beautiful, this is a combination of brilliant pink to purple fluorite cubes with tabular barite on matrix. I call it the "fluorite crown" due to its unique composition of jewel-like fluorites shining atop that crown-shaped matrix. The fluorite cubes of size up to 2.5 cm on edge are translucent to transparent with fine multistepping modification, all emanating an appealing, intensive purple color. The contrast with the iron oxide coated barite and matrix nicely emphasizes the fluorite crystals. All major crystals are in perfect shape and condition with contacts at the sides but perfect at the front. This is a characteristic piece of outstanding aesthetics and good size from this famous and admired Spanish locale. Unfortunately for us collectors and traders, the Berbes Mine is not active anymore and deeply buried unter debris. This fine specimen is a formidable souvenir that reminds of a past time when mining in Berbes was at its height. Brilliant, imposing and simply beautiful.
Seldomly have I seen fluorite specimen of such extraordinary quality and graceful aesthetics! While the picture and video show the fabulous beauty of this piece in an elegant way, they could never do justice to the tremendous impact, this fluorite offers in person. The pink color that lies in this lovely cluster of octahedral fluorite crystals is nicely visible even in low light and on all sides alike. The specimen is crowded with charming fluorite crystals of differing size on all sides. Truly unique and a real Peruvian treasure. Price on request
