Great outline and a nicely balanced composition make this an absolutely desirable specimen. An imposing single quartz of brilliant quality sits on a sparkling grey-white matrix with associated white adularia. A great Alpine picture in almost perfect condition. Small abrasions at the crystals termination do not catch the eye easily as there is so much to be admired here. The quartz is mostly transparent with internal cracks at the lower part. The luster is just incredible on all sides including the terminal faces. Highly picturesque and imposing in person!

A rare closed smoky quartz gwindel on matrix, accompanied by brilliant side-crystals and some contrasting white adularia. The gwindel is absolutely brilliant, flawless and prominently situated in the middle of the smoky quartz cluster. I totally love this fine aesthetics, making for such a lovely Alpine specimen. The side-crystals show some edgewear but nothing of real impact. An overall fantastic piece, lovely in person and extremely rare!

Dark, almost impenetrable color, mirrorinig luster and a sharp pointed termination make this a spectacular smoky quartz of misterious, mesmerizing appearance. The bottom is contacted, not broken, the rest is complete and flawless. Yes, it is only a single crystal, but the quality and the visual impact are just remarkable in person. Unfortunately there is no way of capturing this sheer elegance on a picture but trust me, this smoky quartz is something extraordinary!

SB01 - Quartz Gwindel - SOLD
Minas Gerais, Brazil
Size: 7.5 x 4.7 x 3 cm

What a stunning gwindel! While most of the gwindels comes from Switzerland, I was very surprised to find this brazilian Gwindel in an old european collection. The collector bought this specimen directly in brazil around 30 years ago and kept it until I bought it from him. It is situated on well crystalized calcite with small crystals of pyrrhotite. The specimen is in a very good condition except a small contat at the back and some extremely tiny edgewear very hardly visible without using a good lupe. A great gwindel and good enough even for the picky collector!

The combination between the quartz, schorl, spessartine and the feldspar of this specimen could not be better. It's very showy for the size.

RU02 - Topaz - SOLD

An extremely glassy topaz, with unusual intense, bright color. The termination is very sharp and at the lower side it is growing into some matrix, giving the whole specimen a matrixy character. Much better in person!

This Phenakite comes from the only famous found of Phenakite ever made in the Austrian Alps. The strahler Franz Sieder found it in 1972 in the Leckbachrinne, Salzburg. This is the same area where the well known emeralds comes from. The crystal is well situated on the top of the matrix, showing well faces all around. It is free of damage with some areas of gem quality. It is the best specimen I have ever got from Austria and these are very hard to get nowadays, as all the pieces have disappeared from the market long time ago. Also from other alpine regions I have just very rarely seen any Phenakites of good quality and all these was very small! Ex Sieder, Knobloch and DI Kontrus collections! All labels included.

This is a lovely fluorite form the Schrammacher mountain, which produced very good fluorites in the past. Some of the best fluorites from the Austrian Alpas are coming from this area. This crystal shows a very nice color and is very sweet therefore.
