This thin, tabular quartz crystal is unusually nice and a rare piece for its uncommon shape. The vitreous crystal holds golden rutile needles inside. It is perfect all around with just one minor chip at the lower left side which is totally hidden from the front. A very special thumbnail piece from Habachtal, Austria.
This impressive piece appears like a large ball of pure purple. It is in very good condition with a re-healed contact at the back. At the backside there is a natural and completely crystallized hole as you can very well see in our video. Similar to many other specimens we have seen from this locale, this fluorite is slightly etched and shows a landscape of stacked together cubical crystals. The satiated purple color is typical for Zogno and amazingly beautiful. Unusually large and of great quality!
Altyn-Tyube, the type locality for dioptase, is known as the worlds secon-best (after Tsumeb) dioptase deposit and this specimen is totally showing why. Typical for the locale this specimen shows a cleft, opened in a piece of limestone with a calcite layer. The cleft walls are mounted with brilliant dioptase crystals of gemmy, deeply green color and fantastic luster. The largest crystal is nearly 1.4 cm long and very sharp. Funny thing is, this piece would definitely cost much more if it was from Tsumeb but here we are and this is Altyn-Tyube, the classic dioptase deposit and type locality.
The aesthetics of this piece is straight to the point. One large golden shiny crystal is nested on a couple of smaller crystals to support its weightiness. A sparkling luster radiates from all around this marvelous piece. The overall quality is very good with some subordinate edge wear here and there. A sharp and distinct piece of pyrite with striking aesthetics!
A gorgeous little quartz specimen of best quality with a distinct "Faden" at the center. The piece is 360° complete and has only very minimal edgewear. The quartz is clear and sharp at the terminations left and right with the characteristic milky white zone that runs from bottom to top. A near-perfect specimen with bright luster on all sides!
This is a limpid, triangularly shaped, tabular calcite crystal with a second generation of calcite 3-dimensionally grown over the upper edge. The sides show some cleavage surfaces but which is hardly discernible. A very unusual and fine piece from Felbertal!
This is a smoky quartz of great aesthetics and fine quality. The main crystal is doubly terminated and virtually flawless. The brilliant luster and deep brown color in combination with the striking composition are absolutely impressive. A rare beauty that does not need much introduction.
A charming adularia specimen all around with great Alpine character due to a fine layer of green chlorite. Between those green patches you find brightly white adularia of great luster und translucent crystal body. The piece is beautiful on all sides with no visible damage anywhere. The bottom shows some matrix that is also covered in chlorite and some tiny mica. A lovely piece of high quality and just the right amount of characteristic Alpine chlorite.
The great phantoms inside these crystals of quartz make this group really amazing. The chlorite inside the very glassy crystals is bright shining and very typical for this locality. Though, I have rarely seen this at such a good group of quartz. It's pristine all around!
Another very nice specimen of albite! This is one of just a few matrix specimens out from this find.
One more very nice fluorite with great appearance!
Another striking smoky quartz from Val Giuv out of the recent find. This specimen has a great aesthetics and quality. The luster and color are very good and so is the clarity. Most of the specimens which I have seen consists of too much crystals grown togehter without any main crystal, or just have bad damage. Very special in person.
