"Mirroring luster" is not just a phrase but literally meant. The quality of this quartz is simply spectacular. Through the glassy inward you can nicely see the more encrusted backside of the crystal. While the quartz is generally in great condition, there is some tiny edgewear at its tip which fortunately is not visible from the front. There are some internal cracks here, but no real damage to speak of. The bottom is contacted but also not broken. A great piece all around that shows brilliant aesthetics!
Snow-white and with a brilliant vibrant sheen, this adularia comes with a quality that is incredibly rare yet typical for the Swiss tunnels. Unlike the vast majority of Alpine adularia which has accessory chlorite all over its surface - which is beautiful in its own way, don't get me wrong - this very specimen is completely free of any impurities, coatings or the like. Lovely, immaculate, white adularia of finest quality with only the slightest, insignificant abrasions. A stunning piece in person!
A massy, translucent adularia crystal of greenish white color, slightly chloritized on all sides. The surface is alternating matt and lustrous. This specimen is a floater and free of any damage. An imposing piece of nice 3-dimensional aesthetics!
Rich pink color dramatically radiates from this single crystal fluorite even at roomlight but is spectacularly amplified at direct backlight. A fascinating crystal in person that is completely clear at the inside with a flawless silky surface all around. At the lower right you see the imprint of another crystal. The backside is slightly etched and has an organic look. Unlike famous Swiss fluorite sources like Frunthorn or the Gotthard massif, the Furkahorn only produced few pieces of importance. The dramatic size and quality of this very specimen absolutely stand out!
It's hard to ever find a thumbnail gold specimen of such perfect aesthetics and quality! The gold crystals, sitting on a well proportioned marvelous white calcite matrix, are extremely lustrous and sharp. A picturesque little stunner of highest Eagle's Nest quality!
Oberndorf is the source of the worlds best strontianite crystals and this specimen is an impressive and brilliant example for the size and quality this mine produces! The heavy, snow white matrix nicely emphasizes the pale toe intensively orange strontianite crystals that come in ball-like clusters up to around 3.5 cm in diameter. The strontianite is all translucent and in very good condition. There is some damage present but which fades on a fantastic and exceedingly rare piece like this! A real Alpine classic in best natural shape!
This is a totally glassy, colorless jewel, virtually flawless and beautifully developed! The gwindel itself is relatively thick (1.8 cm), thus the twist is not too strong. It is totally water-clear with a lustrous surface at the main view. At the bottom there is some additional quartz, acting as a matrix and making the piece even more interesting in terms of aesthetics!
One more fine hematite also in combination with titanite!
Another very nice alpine fluorite with great color and also crystallized at the back. Currently in the A. Watzl Sr. Collection
This is an exquisite and well-situated crystal of apatite on matrix from Panasqueira. The crystal has a very good luster and a very interesting green color.
While it is very hard to find any titanites on matrix, this crystals is perfectly situated on it. It has a very good twinned shape. Free of damage!
This is a very good titanite twin from the Austrian Alps. It has a very nice color and a good size. A group of smaller crystals is also attached, what looks very nice in person. Only some minor edgewear is present, what is very small over all. Better in person!
