And again we are reminded why the tourmaline is referred to as the "gemstone of the rainbow". The main body of this crystal is blue like the heaven with a termination that holds a wonderful color-change to green and orange. This truly is a piece of art, as only nature can produce it. Admittedly there are some abrasions here and there but therefore we have a lower price on this one.

KR48 - Liddicoatite on Quartz - SOLD
Antananarivo Province, Bongolava Region, Madagascar

Aesthetics on this piece is just great. A single liddicoatite of pristine quality is attached to a white matrix of quartz and mica providing a stark contrast and much emphasizing the crystal. While the backside is somehow busy with several small, paler tourmalines, the main view is quite straight forward and very much elegant. The quartz, acting as a base for the crystal, is white and translucent, the mica on the other hand shows a strong purple hue and direct backlight. Back to the main actor of this piece, I can honestly say this liddocoatite is of amazing gemmy quality. All transparent, lustrous and of intensive raspberry red color. The termination is very well developed and shows many different faces. A great aesthetic piece in miniature size.

Wow, this hematite is absolutely amazing! Mirroring luster on all sides, hundreds of sharp blades, 3-dimensionally arranged to form a perfectly lovely iron rose. A small amount of white feldspar matrix adds a nice contrast and perfects the picture. There is no damage to be found only small contact induced imperfections at one spot. Fabulous, mesmerizing and of the highest quality the Fibbia-St.Gotthard-Piz Lucendro area is famous for!

"Unusual" is the word that commes to mind, when looking at this combination of quartz and calcite. "Beautiful" is the word that follows. A group of quartz crystals of superb quality is accompanied by tabular white calcite that protects the main quartz like a cape. The whole piece is in very good condition and even the bottom is fully crystallized. The quartz shows brilliant luster, perfect pointed terminations and is transparent, with blueish grey clouds at the lower parts. A remarkable piece all around!

The prehnite is grown over big plates of calite on this piece! It is very 3-dimensional and much better in person!

Size: 12.8 x 8.3 x 3.2 cm

A large example for the fine specimens of octahedral fluorite on white contrasting quartz matrix from the De'an Mine. The fluorite crystals are of a marvelous color combination, green at the center and deeply purple at the edges with a size that ranges from only a few millimeters up to 1.4 cm on edge. The fluorites faces are frosted and smooth. The matrix is a mat of thousands of white quartz needles that have been growing on green fluorite. The periphery is contacted but the rest is in well condition with only one broken crystal at the lower part of the specimen. An elegant piece of nice aesthetics.

One exceptionally fine single Tessin habit quartz that is virtually flawless and of very best quality! Water-clear and with perfect wet-look luster this outstanding specimen is just mesmerizing! Like on a cut diamond the striations and faces reflect the light in a lovely and playful way. The tip has a tiny wilbur but which perfectly hides behind the overwhelming quality of this quartz crystal. Best quality from Val Bedretto at the foot of the St. Gotthard Massiv!

Many crystals of top quality are comeing out of the matrix here. The tip of the main crystal has a small chip, what is luckily not visible from the front side. Though the price is much lower because of that, and very fair for the good visual imapact of this group.

Outstanding in any respect, this skeletal quartz from the classic location is one of a kind. You will find no flaws on this piece, as this floater is perfect all around, with clarity paired with marvelous luster. While the whole surface is etched, the prismatic faces are still discernible, which adds much to the general aesthetics and the distinct character of this quartz. Another detail worth mentioning is the presence of attractive chlorite inclusions. To find all of these properties in one piece, especially of this dramatic size, is virtually impossible.

Reißeckgruppe, Carinthia, Austria
Size: 3.4 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm

Color and brilliance of this small specimen are just remarkable and charming in person. The amethyst head of this sceptre sits on a smoky quartz stem which is a rare thing to find on the market. All faces are lustrous around the glassy crystal. Apart from some contacts there is nothing to worry about at this piece. No chips, no abrasions, no breaks. Only a unusually fine amethyst/smoky quartz sceptre, found around eight years ago at the Reißeck group in Carinthia which produced some very nice combinations of similar character.

Val Malenco in Italy is the classic locality for demantoides in the world. It produced a lot of good specimens in the past. However, today it has become very difficult to find anys on the market, as all disappeared over the years. This is a remarkable specimen with many crystals of high quality on it. The color is bright green with a hint of yellow, depenidng on the light. It is in a very good condition and free of damage!
