SK06 - Fluorite and Quartz - 7000€
Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
Size: 10.6 x 8 x 6.5 cm
Watch Video

An unusually aesthetic paragenesis of quartz and fluorite, associated by some smaller, sharp arsenopyrite crystals on a dark muscovite matrix. Most dominant are two brilliant quartz crystals at the back which oppose a single purple fluorite cube. The quartz is clear, shows excellent luster and a very distinctive and attractive phantom. The fluorite is of similarly high quality, clear and of nice purple color. Some edges show very minimal wear and there is a contact on the muscovite but there is no actual damage to report. An outstanding piece of high quality and superb composition from Yaogangxian, one of Chinas richest mineral deposits!

I love the aesthetics of this fine little specimen! A cubical fluorite dominantly and well centred sits on a supportive matrix of smaller fluorite. The crystal has bright candy yellow color, is lustrous and flawless. The whole piece is in best condition and perfectly attractive!

RK229 - Prase - SOLD
Serifos Island, Greece
Size: 8.4 x 5.4 x 4.5 cm

The shape of this exceptionally nice prase specimen reminds me of a sailing ship on its way from Serifos Island where the high time of this famous green quartz is long gone due to a legal prohibition. The translucent crystals are 3-dimensionally arranged and in perfect condition. With only some smaller broken sidecrystals the overall impact of this piece is just astounding and unusually striking. A great piece of this more and more rare mineral that gets its unique green color from tiny inclusions of hedenbergite or actinolite.

TA22 - Tetrahedrite and Pyrite with Quartz - SOLD
Mundo Nuevo Mine, Mundo Nuevo, Huamachuco, Sanchez Carrion, La Libertad, Peru
Size: 6.2 x 4.8 x 3.6 cm

This is a well balanced paragenesis from the Mundo Nuevo Mine in Peru where some of the best tetrahedrite specimens have been found. A group of nicely modified, highly lustrous cubical pyrite is overgrown with rather large metallic black tetrahedrite up to remarkable 2.7 cm on edge. As a contrast you find very nice transparent white quartz crystals. Admittedly the piece is not quite perfect with a ding right at the front but this is still an outstanding specimen for the mineral that shows exceptionally fine aesthetics and crystal size!

MN22 - Kunzite - 900€
Laghman Province, Nuristan , Afghanistan
Size: 17.8 x 3.6 x 2.6 cm
Watch Video

An impressive 17.8 cm kunzite of great translucent quality that shows no damage anywhere. Even the bottom is completely re-crystallized. The crystals pink color is especially concentrated along its c-axis, meaning that an illumination from the bottom brings out the vivid candy-pink this mineral is famous for. Attached to the side face you find a dark red tantalite-(Mn) around 1.7 cm across. The overall quality of this specimen is good yet not great but size, color and condition make up for a lot here!

MN19 - Galena - 750€
Sweetwater Mine, Missouri, USA
Size: 11.8 x 9.1 x 8.8 cm

2.1 kg of solid galena, brilliantly crystallized on all sides, even at the bottom which makes this a perfect floater. The Sweetwater Mine in the Viburnum Trend - the belt of lead mines in Missouri - is well known for its world class galena specimens. Especially nice about this specimen is the 3-dimensional shape of intergrown cubical crystals that are heavily modified to show hundreds of faces. The luster is not top but good all the same. At close inspection you will find some nice little sphalerite distributed about the galenas surface. This whole specimen is free of damage, full of lovely details and a real stunner in person!

Rich and sparkling, colorful and gemmy! This is a flat plate of pure azurite and malachite of just best quality, crystallized on front and backside. Particularly the front shows a spectacular plethora of sharp, lustrous, royal blue crystals. At some peripheral regions you can see beginning pseudomorphosis, adding some nice spots of green malachite. A just brilliant Milpillas azurite thats much better in person!

FA292 - Fluorite - 850€
Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia
Size: 10.8 x 7.9 x 4.5 cm
Watch Video

Large cuboctahedral fluorite crystals of fantastically bright green color and great luster are stacked upon each other to shape this brilliant piece. The periphery is contacted but not broken or otherwise damaged. Okorusu fluorite is nealry always crystallized as straight cubes, which makes this combination shape of cube and octahedron most unusual and rare. Still, what most dramatically impresses at this piece is the rich emerald green color that glows inside this specimen. Sure, it needs some direct backlight, but when provided this is a real stunner!

A rich display of black neptunite on white natrolite, associated with blue benitoite, characteristic for the popular Dallas Gem Mine. The neptunite is perfectly sharp, flawless and jet-black with some blood-red patches. The benitonite is scattered between the neptunite, its largest representative reaches 1.1 cm but is contacted at the edge of the display face. A highly appealing, catchy and sharp paragenesis from the worlds most famous locale for neptunite and benitonite. This specimen has been with the Vienna based collector Walter Knobloch for many years and is now on display again!
