This is a pristine doubly terminated smoky quartz crystal that shows best luster at the frontside - the backside is somewhat more dull but still good - and some sparkling association of mica and smaller quartz crystals. There is no damage to speak of only microscopic abrasions at the termination. A truly brilliant specimen of excellent aesthetics and superb quality!
A lovely adularia floater that's overgrown with hematite, forming a very well developed and lustrous iron rose. The combination of adularia and hematite is quite characteristic for Fibbia although the tightness of this connection is unusual. With no damage and very good quality this is a most desirable little piece!
At closer inspection you will find this "smoky" quartz more than unusual, as it is in fact a transparent quartz with a very dark, almost opaque core like a black cloud. The crystals surface is lustrous all around with some white, nicely contrasting feldspar. It sits on a small piece of matrix that is cut at the bottom. Besides some natural contacts there is no damage here. A unique and fascinating specimen!
The famed purple color of Zogno fluorite is absolutely mesmerizing at this unusually well shaped piece. Most pieces are so heavily etched - which is not per se a bad thing - that the original habit is unrecognisable. Here on the other hand the cubical shape is obvious with amazing 9.3 cm on edge. Bottom and backside are more heavily etched and gradually the shape turns into a more typicall Zogno fluorite. Best color is at the bottom of the crystal so a low backlight illumination would bring out this flash of purple color in the most favorable way!
The hexagonal shape of the hematite specimen is very dominant, emphasised by the iridescent effect of mirroring hematite petals. The heavy iron oxide is accompanied by a small group of transparent quartz to the left and a botryoidal group of silvery muscovite to the right, which makes for a very much unique and definitely amazing overall composition! Both front and backside are nicely crystallized and in best condition. A unique, dramatic and just beautiful Alpine hematite specimen!
High class quartz from Rauris, beautifully composed on a grey matrix. This piece is virtually perfect with no damage, naturally broken matrix and sharp, glassy crystals, many of which are doubly terminated. The outline is great with one single crystal sticking out like a tower above a castle's walls. This is definitely a superb specimen of remarkable quality and outstanding class!
This is in fact a brilliant piece of Alpine titanite on matrix. It might not be the kind of "textbook" composition most people are into nowadays, but then this in nature and what incredibly beautiful crystals nature is able to yield! The main titanite is embedded in grey-white adularia, is 2.4 cm long and doubly terminated. The color is a mossy green but gets amber-brown to the terminations. A stunning twin crystal, nicely presented on a characteristic Alpine matrix. Further to the right is a side-crystal that looks just like a smaller version of the main crystal. All over this specimen is nicely crystallized and free of any damage - only some contacts at the backside. A natural piece of highest quality!
An aesthetic combination of a rather large main quartz emerging from a group of smaller crystals. The quartz is completely colorless, glassy and lustrous, with no damage to speak of. A beautiful, well developed specimen with no downsides!
A majestic amethyst specimen from the Austrian Alps that is in extremely well condition. The main crystal is a stunning 8.5 cm in diabeter, accompanied by smaller horizonally lying side-crystals. The whole aggregate is heavily etched all over, yet all crystals are still very well defined. As a floater - the bottom where it detached from the rock is all re-crystallized - of impressive size and with only one tiny chip at the side-crystal, this is surely one of the best amethyst group from the Sundergrund!
Very much characteristic for the locale and elegant. The lower parts of the quartz are white with some iron oxide coating but the upper half is glassy, highly lustrous and shows a charming surface structure on all sides. There is a small chip at the termination but besides that there is no damage. A typical Rauris-quartz of good hand-size.
