The structure of this intriguing rose quartz specimen is highly unusual. However you turn it there is always an interplay of sparkling crystals and distinct imprints of some other material that has dissolved long ago. Along the upper ridge there are even some smoky quartz crystals adding variation to the otherwise single-colored specimen. The lovely pink color is something that is exclusive for this region and rarely found even here. The condition is overall well with some contacts but no breaks. Absolutely beautiful and unusual!
It's that kind of intensive colors packed in a glassy elongated crystal that everyone is searching for in high class tourmalines! The color ranges from intensive grass green over a blueish white zone up to maximum cherry red towards the termination. Absolutely gorgeous in person! The interior is glassy from bottom to top with only very little internal cracks. Aside from one repair in the middle section the crystal is complete and flawless! Size, color and quality make this a fantastic tourmaline specimen of great visual impact!
The beautiful white pericline matrix is scene for one metallic red rutile crystal that is rather exceptional for the locale that is well known for its Alpine type minerals. The opaque crystal is striated and lustrous and easily shows its red color even at normal room light. The pericline is also in best condition with only peripheras contacts. Very nice in aesthetics and a real rarity for this locale!
Diopside from this locale is well known but this specimen about doubles the size of what's possible! With over 10 cm in length and intensive forest green color this crystal is a real stunner. The elongated crystal is highly lustrous from bottom to top with a nice pyramidal termination. It is part gemmy, part opaque but no matter how you turn it, there is always a flashy emerald green part to reflect the light! Very impressive in size and quality!
This lovely sky-blue single crystal tourmaline has quite the presence, supported through glassy quality, luster and most importantly the intriguing termination. Like a crown atop the otherwise uniform crystal the termination is of intensive pink color with a complex architecture and best gemmy quality! The whole specimen is in best condition and really an attractive beauty!
An attractive specimen from the rich gold deposits at Serra do Caldeirão. The piece shows distictive hoppered growth, very nice and bright golden color and is all perfect! A great example for these spectacular finds from a couple of years ago!
Several single isolated "snow flakes" of cerussite are distributet about both front and backside of this crystal studded grey matrix. There are some undeniable damages here and there but if you put it in the right angle those are hardly visible and don't disturb the attractive character of this classic piece. Nice quality cerussite on a contrasting matrix.
Very nice single crystal tourmaline of remarkable size and great gemmy green color! The termination as well as some part at the base show pink color too which adds a nice color contrast. The termination is somewhat irregular with contacts and intergrown microcrystals but has a very nicely terminated protrusion and a piece of white feldspar. The piece is repaired but has no damage. What is special about this piece is definitely the brilliant crystal quality and the very attractive bi-color effect!
This unusual disc shaped crystal habit is known to occur at the Wutong Mine but crystals of such exceptionally large size are extremely rare! The vivid cherry-red translucent crystal shows an extensive frosted surface, encompassed by pinkish white rhodochrosite microcrystals. The lower left corner is where it detached from the matrix, all other edges are perfectly well developed. Turning it around you can see the microcrystals extending over the whole face with some pyrite association which looks absolutely lovely! A marvelous and huge rhodochrosite for this unusual shape!
A classic miniature specimen of solid silver from Kongsberg. The single claw-like structure that protrudes from the top defines the distinctive shape and makes the piece unique and attractive. A interplay of oxidised silver on the outer surface and bright shiny zones in countless cavities brings the piece to live as if there was some inner glow! A nice classic piece without any downsides!
A classic and highly aesthetic combination of white calcite and native copper in a sweeping shape! The main calcite crystal is surrounded by branching copper structures and set on a massive piece of rock matrix. Inside the transparent crystal you can even see some copper which is a rarity known to occur at the Quincy Mine. Naturally the copper inside the calcite is not oxidised and thus much brighter than the free structures. Overall this is an intriguing piece of playfully interwoven copper and calcite in surprisingly well condition!
This is one amazing piece of fluorite! The all limpid crystal is a complete floater in very best condition that shows marvelous surface structure on all sides! Under closer inspection you would find three cubical crystals that are so heavily modified that the basic shape is hardly discernible. The color is a light but distinctive ocean green thats homogenous throughout the specimen. What it comes down to is a rounded, all crystallized shape of glassy green fluorite that is utterly beautiful and attractive in person!
