A real european classic! This specimen is an appealing association of sparkling galena with white calcite and greenish-yellow siderite, which is very much typical for this classic locale. All perfectly arranged with good contrast, you would almost believe this to be the result of patient handcraft. There are just some very much acceptable contacts at the sides. A great piece for any collection of aesthetical classic minerals.

Like snow covered monolithes in a beautiful winter landscape, this group of quartz sceptres is perched on a lovely, very thin matrix. All crystals are in brilliant shape with just sparkling luster distinct sceptre-heads and nice windows on the terminations. This is a very elegant piece overall, with grace and quality alike. For a better view on the 3-dimensional character please also watch the video, you will not be disappointed!

Highly aesthetic and remarkably well preserved this piece is a terrific example for a well balanced paragenesis. A nicely crystallized siderite-matrix holds a cluster of metallic arsenopyrite of mirroring luster. Towering over all of this is a single perfect quartz crystal. All over this specimen, especially at its beautifully crystallized bottom, you will find associated apatite of varying size. However you turn this fantastic specimen, there is no damage to be found and nothing thats of real concern here. Small chips at the aresenopyrite are practically invisible and do not disturb at all. Brilliance, a perfect arrangement and a distinct 3-dimensional character distinguish this eye-catching specimen!

FA230 - Amethyst, Prase - Sold
Serifos Island, Greece
Size: 12.5 x 2.6 x 2.1 cm

This rare piece is a combination of prase at the bottom and amethyst at the upper half. It is one of the best crystals from an older find. As the search for minerals has meanwhile been prohibited at Serifos there are no new specimens comming these last years. The elongated shape is very straight forwart like a rocket waiting to launch. There is no damage on this piece, even the smallest side crystals are intact. An unusual specimen of great quality and a dramatic, highly attractive color change.

This brownish dolomite matrix supports a highly aesthetic blossom-like cluster of limpid tabular barite. I love the striking composition as well as the high crystal quality of brilliant luster and perfect transparency. The whole cluster is in very good shape with only one smaler chip that is visible at closer view but fortunately does not distract the perfect outline and the general beauty of this piece. Highly attractive and of sparkling quality.

FA48 - Crocoite - Sold
Adelaide Mine, Dundas, Tasmania, Australia
Size: 6.8 x 1.1 x 0.9 cm

The size of this single crocoite crystal is absolutely impressive. With 1.1 cm in diameter this crystal marks itself as out of the 2010 pocket that in total produced around 350 specimens. It is hollow and fragile yet not freshly broken. The color is very intens, a radiating bright red-orange with a semigloss surface. A crocoite single crystal that is in remarkably good shape and imposing in size.

360° of bright red proustite on matrix, sparkling and powerful. The beginning of this century marked a period of proustite mining at Imiter Mine. Hundreds of fire-red crystals, up to around 0.6 x 0.3 mm in size are covering a nice rust-brown rock to shape a quite amazing 3-dimensional landscape. Imiter Mine might not be known for the largest specimens but the quality is stunning. This specimen is a floater of very good condition and strikingly aesthetic!

A piece of great unusual aesthetics! The dark brown matrix holds several chisel-shaped azurite crystals some of which stand out freely to form a unique outline. The azurite is very dark and admittedly needs some direkt backlight but great contrast and luster more than make up for this. Overall there is some edgewear distributed about this specimen but especially the main view is widely free of any disturbing issues. The now for many years closed Tsumeb Mine is still legendary among mineral collectors all over the world. This specimen is a nice miniature example for the fabulous azurite from this famous locale and very much attracitve considered for itself.

An amazonite specimen of very intensive water-blue color which is quite unusual for the locale. The crystals show no considerable damage, are sharp and up to 3.2 x 2.0 cm in size, sitting on a brown and white matrix of microcline and quartz. The striking color comes out nicely in contrast to the matrix and shows a very vibrant sheen at direct illumination.

FA299 - Tetrahedrite and Dolomite and Wulfenite and Quartz - Sold
Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Tsumeb, Namibia
Size: 10.5 x 9.4 x 6.9 cm

This cabinet size specimen is a nice combination of tetrahedrite on a beautiful dark matrix covered in dolomite and quartz. At some spots you can see some orange wulfenite but which unfortunately is not very well preserved. Most striking about this piece is the large 2.5 cm crystal that literally stands out of this landscape-like surface. The combination of quartz and pinkish dolomite makes a very 3-dimensional visual support for the dominant tetrahedrite. A very appealing piece in overall good condition that is a rarity for the famous Tsumeb Mine.

A totally brilliant piece of perfect aesthetics as you only find it from this classic german locale. Size and arrangement are unbeatable forming a piece of just dramatic visual impact. Being all perfectly terminated, delicately structured and totally flawless this specimen reminds me of a group of petrified wood, all elegant and calm. An outstanding piece of pure aesthetics and perfect crystal quality!

XPCC - Proustite - Sold

A fantastic elongated proustite crystal from the famous silver mining district of Chañarcillo. The single transparent crystal shines with pristine blood-red color, completely undiminished by oxidation. Even at room light the intensive color comes out nicely but the direct backlight shows the full gemminess and brilliance of this incredible crystal. A single issue here is some kind of chip or contact at the termination but which is not fresh at all and thus fully acceptable on a piece like this. Seldomly have I ever seen an elongated proustite of such exceptional length, so gemmy and deeply red as this specimen. A real marvel in person!
