It's a jewel of a quartz crystal that features fantastic luster, glassy interior and a sweeping composition of interlocked crystals. It is a complete floater without any damage or even abrasion. Some inclusions of orange-brown limonite add color to the otherwise glassy quartz.
It's a very unusual amethyst with a large and highly complex sceptre head. The piece must have detached from the matrix during development so the stem is terminated while there are some contacts on the backside and the tip. Due to this contacted tip we decided to turn it upside down so that now you can see the white stem protruding from the top. Like this the 6 cm glassy sceptre head with lovely purple patches is the main attraction and presents its structured, waxy surface dominantly. A very nice, unusual, convoluted piece that rewards a close examination!
The main crystal on this impressive Sweetwater Mine galena specimen
has stunning 7.5 cm on edge! It is in outstainding condition, very well developed and shows bright mirroring luster all around!
The galena is set on a marvelous matrix that is a mix of smaller galena crystals, chalcopyrite and dolomite with larger scalenohedral calcite in a sweeping jackstraw assembly.
This specimen has absolutely impressive aesthetics and great showcase presence due to size and contrast!
The condition is overall great with no visible damage anywhere.
It's an exceptionally fine exemplar of Prase from the unique finds at Serifos Island. The quartz shows the characteristic waxy luster, surface structure and green color, caused by actinolite inclusions. Several crystals of different sizes are aesthetically arranged and in very best condition. A small broken crystal in the middle is nicely re-healed and hardly visible.
Very attractive and increasingly hard to come by due to the collecting prohibition on the island!
Blue tourmalines are extremely rare and coveted, especially when it comes to high quality and aesthetics. This crystal is 3.3 cm long with a pyramidal termination at the top and a flat termination at the bottom. The color is very intensive and expecially good towards the termination where the crystal is gemmy. The bottom has a 3 mm black zone, finished by a beautiful purple layer that is thin but remarkably intensive! The crystal is set on a sharp and glassy quartz crystal that is equally good in quality and condition.
Stak Nala is famous for its Tourmalines, very often in attractive association with white albite. A complex paragenesis on the other hand is not easy to find from this locale.
This unusual specimen is a rare combination of schorl, albite, apatite and garnet in appealing composition!
The main crystal is a schorl at the center with a size of 4,6 x 1,5 cm. It is embedded in snow-white albite like a coat that leaves only the front open.
At middle hight of that front side there is a single skin-colored apatite that is very well developed and a real eye-catcher!
This combination is absolutely gorgeous and extremely rare. Some garnet at the backside adds even more to the exceptional character of this specimen.
The condition is extremely well all around.
A single fluorite octahedron is set on a characteristic granite matrix. The fluorite is in flawless condition, transparent and with very distinctive pink color. With a size of 2.1 cm in diameter it is rather remarkable considering its quality and design. A classic specimen of fluorite on matrix from the legendary Rufibach cleft!
This old rutile specimen has a remarkable history. It comes with an old label from the University Erlangen (Germany) and a newer one from the private collection of Dr. Reinhard Dallinger (Innsbruck, Austria).
The 2 cm main rutile is set on a matrix of rust-red limonite and beige pericline with some rutile side-crystals here and there. The rutile is free of damage, the pericline is in fine condition as well.
This anatase specimen shows just fabulous quality! It is a rich combination of countless high quality anatase crystals on a sparkling white albite matrix. This feldspar matrix is nicely crystallized and a perfectly contrasting matrix for the metallic black crystals. The anatase comes a strikingly lustrous and sharp crystals, all in flawless condition. At the top there is a single main anatase which is 1.3 cm long, flawless and with some gemmy blue patches, visible at strong and direct backlight.
The first thing that stands out when you look at this fine huebnerite is the spectacular luster! Both, the huebnerite and the quartz are sparkling and of amazing quality! The single huebnerite aggreagate is set amidst white quartz which makes for a staggering contrast and highly emphasizes the main crystal. Some direct backlight (as seen in the first picture) brings out a strong and warm maroon color. Very beautiful and in remarkable condition!
Pink fluorite is certainly among the most attractive minerals from the whole Alpine region. This large matrix specimen from the renowned Zinggenstock group holds a rich landscape of octahedral crystals in good quality and distinctive pink color. The largest crystals reach up to 2.5 cm, they are translucent and with a nice waxy luster. The condition is quite exceptional for a large and heavy piece like this. One crystal at the right side has a repair but apart from that this whole specimen is undamaged. Definitely an impressive Alpine fluorite of large size and with very attractive crystals all over!
With a size of 11.8 cm and really just outstanding quality and crystal architecture this is an important specimen from the Mörchnerkar! Best luster, razor sharp edges and nice transparency, especially towards the intensively purple terminations!
The color play of those purple zones with the white reflecting quartz is beautiful in person.
The overall condition is excellent with only minor abrasions. A broken side-crystal is re-healed, not freshly broken.
This specimen was found by Reinhard Heim and has been in the collections of Robert Patzak as well as Ingeborg and Anton Watzl senior.
