Rarely do the apatites from Pakistan reach this kind of quality! The single crystal that is nested in silvery muscovite on this fine specimen shows spectacular luster and clarity and has the most intensive reddish-pink color you could wish for! The crystal itself is 3.5 cm broad and 1.5 cm thick and is very well visible, protruding from its muscovite bed.

What I like most about this lovely specimen is the nice composition: One main crystal stands out on the left. It is supported by smaller side-crystals, all of which are as flawless as the main crystal. On the right is a nice small piece of rock matrix that is all natural and encrusted with micro-crystals on all sides.
The quality of the quartz is quite good. Great transparency and splendid luster on the sides. The termination has minimal chlorite but not too much. There are internal cracks present towards the termination but those don’t reach the surface. A brilliant and highly aesthetic little specimen!

LP01 - Ruby - Sold
Mogok Township, Mandalay Division, Burma (Myanmar)
Size: 3.2 x 2.4 x 2.2 cm

What a beautiful crystal of ruby! Color, size, sharpness, this crystal has it all. It is the very best crystal of ruby I have ever personally got.

AT67 - Smoky Quartz - Sold
Zinggenstock, Grimsel area, Hasli valley, Berner Oberland, Switzerland
Size: 10 x 10 x 7.8 cm

This beautiful smoky quartz on matrix comes from the famous find made by the Ruffibachs many decades ago. While most of the specimens from this pocket are sawn at the base, this is also completely natural on the lower side. Color, luster, clarity and aesthetics are outstanding on this piece. It is one of the finest smoky quartz specimens on matrix I have got in many years. Very hard to get and perfect for the advanced collector.

KR20 - Calcite - Sold
Egremont, Cumberland, England
Size: 2.9 x 2.7 x 1.4 cm

This is an outstanding twin from the classic locale Egremont in England. The surface shows a very nice striation, what looks gorgeous in person. The luster is really good, and so is the clarity. Except a contact at the bottom side, where the specimen is mounted on the base, it is free of any damage.

The combination of the snow white adularia with the smoky quartz is very lovely here. No damage is present!

This is an impressive rutile with a very good size and form, situated very well on a matrix of quartz. It comes from the famous Rauris Valley and is untypical big in comparison to others I have seen in the past. Some small chlorite is attached at the side, giving the specimen well known alpine character. A perfect fit for every alpine collection!

This quartz has a sculptural from, good luster and clarity. I got this piece out of an old collection, what indicates that it was found at least 20-30 years ago. It is a floater all around and free of damage!

NL15 - Tourmaline - Sold
Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill, Mesa Grande District, San Diego Co., California, USA
Size: 8.4 x 3.1 x 2.3 cm

A stunning crystal, doubly terminated and both terminations being glassy, which I have only rarely seen in the past! It has a very nice pink and olive green color showing a great zonation. Some cleavelandite and lepidolite is attached at the side, making some contrast and this piece very elegant! It is repaired once, as so many other pieces from this mine. Luckily this is not visible from the front and well hidden by the cleavelandite! Over all this is a beautiful piece and in a very good conditon!

XY01 - Anatase - Sold

This single crystal of bipyramidal anatase shows very sharp terminations and is free of any damage. The surface is striated and lustrous and bejeweled with sparkling quartz and feldspar crystals. In direct illumination it even reveals a light blue shimmer. Very nice in person!

AB15 - Smoky Quartz Gwindel - Sold
Val Strem, Tujetsch, Graubünden, Switzerland
Size: 6.7 x 6.3 x 2.4 cm

Appealing color, very good luster and almost perfect clarity are combined in this gwindel. Still, the most impressive aspect is the general shape of the specimen. The completely undamaged floater shows all the wonderful characteristics of an Alpine gwindel with a remarkable twist! Very nice and noteworthy too is the crystallization on the surface of the lower backside, where the crystal grew on characteristic Giuv-sienite with adularia and epidote visible. At the lower left as well as on the backside you see the impression of other crystals. Especially the one at the back, appearing like a distinct, hexagonal “eye”, adds much to the beauty of this very special gwindel!

Simple and beautiful, this piece is a nice eye-catcher. The single demantoid crystal is perched on a charmingly crystallized matrix, that provides a perfect contrast. The crystal itself is a lovely jewel with bright green color, perfectly sharp edges and clear to the bottom. An aesthetic piece of fine quality!
