A cluster of high quality elbaite crystals from the famous Pederneira Mine. The main crystal is a total of 9.1 cm in lenght, gemmy green to blue and with a sharp, pointed termination. The thick and flat terminated side crystals have a opaque core, coated with a layer of brilliant gemmy and highly lustrous tourmaline. A number of single isolated, blocky wulfenite crystals on contrasting white calcite matrix. The combination of bright orange wulfenite on white calcite is quite rare for the locale as most pieces are on limestone or just too crowded make out any matrix at all. The crystals on this piece are brightly lustrous and show a slight sandwich-effect at the side faces. Very nicely crystallized and free of any considerable damage. This is a distinctive piece of high quality and great aesthetics!

This majestic amethyst is from the legendary 70s find of Struntz and Putzgruber and totally impresses with its exceptional size and quality! The color is a satiated violet as known almost exclusively from Mörchnerkar when it comes to Alpine amethyst! The piece is crystallized all around including the bottom. Especially the main view is all brilliant, lustrous and glassy. There is a break at the backside but which happened during growth and thus is slightly re-healed and acceptable on an important classic speciman as this. Absolutely stunning and beautiful in person!

AP8 - Titanite and Adularia - Sold
Amertal, Felbertal, Pinzgau, Salzburg, Austria
Size: 4.4 x 4 x 2.1 cm

One doubly terminated titanite crystal horizontally lies across a small piece of matrix. While the middle section is set with some adularia crystals, both terminations are freely visible. The backside shows the countinuous titanite crystal, 4.4 cm long, but the luster is a little less bright and there is one chip right at the center which makes our choise for a main view obvious. All in all this is definitely an appealing specimen that is basically a floater of good quality!

It is almost impossible to get a good scheelite from the Austrian Alps and even harder if it's got size! This is a massive, 850 gram(!) crystal with a bright orange color from the famous Rauris valley in Salzburg. With a size of over 10 cm this crystal is a real giant and totally unique, especially for a piece of this fantastic color! When illuminated from the back a dark juicy orange, almost red, warmly radiates from the rock!
The crystal is contacted at the back but has no damage at all which makes it even more attractive!A perfect fit to every high class alpine collection that brings some color to it!

A number of spherical blue azurite crystals are scattered across this landscape of snow-white calcite. The already marvelous contrast is even improved by some green malachite at the right side of the specimen. Considering the classic locale, this is truly a unique piece of highest quality, as I rarely have seen it before. The azurite spheres - the largest of which has a diameter of 8 mm - are in perfect condition and show velvety blue color. In between these spheres you can see scalenohedral calcite crystals of differing size. Without question, this is a unique piece of superb aesthetics and quality!

RE243 - Amethyst with Hematite - Sold
Moonlight Mine, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
Size: 9.4 x 6.8 x 4.4 cm

This is no ordinary amethyst specimen like the ones from Brazil or Uruguay but it sparkles with blood red hematitet inclusions just below the surface. Amethyst of the "Thunder Bay style" is exceptionally beautiful for the strong colors: intensive purple amethyst studded with deep red hematite! The color on this specimen is somewhat more open compared to other specimens with less hematite to reveal the purple amethyst. Still, dots of red hematite are spread across the whole specimen and cumulate towards the pointed terminations of the amethyst pyramids. The overall condition is near perfect with only minimal issues on one or two tips. A marvelous, sparkling specimen from the Thunder Bay area!

Impressive clarity and aesthetics are main attractions of this very fine small cabinet quartz specimen. The main crystal has a length of 6.7 cm and protrudes from the very center of a very beautiful group of crystals. The quartz is all pristine, colorless, lustrous and highly aesthetic! The tip of the main crystal is somewhat worn but which is not all too obvious and is the only small downside on this otherwise attractive specimen!
