"The Crown", as we call this spectacular specimen, shows all the features of a real queens crown: the sweeping aesthetics, the vibrant quality, the pure elegance! Characteristic for the locale the quartz crystals show beautiful green chlorite inclusions behind a surface of best shiny luster! The five main crystals are all perfectly sharp and free of damage. Fanning out from a common, compact white quartz center they are all struggling for attention, one more beautiful than the other! The terminations are all brightly lustrous and sharp. One crystal has one insignificant wilbur, the rest is 100% perfect. Lower backside and bottom show contacts but also no damage. This is one major piece from the Schinschlucht that amazes with absolute best quality and aesthetics!

Very nice single crystal tourmaline of remarkable size and great gemmy green color! The termination as well as some part at the base show pink color too which adds a nice color contrast. The termination is somewhat irregular with contacts and intergrown microcrystals but has a very nicely terminated protrusion and a piece of white feldspar. The piece is repaired but has no damage. What is special about this piece is definitely the brilliant crystal quality and the very attractive bi-color effect!

EP15 - Epidote - Sold
Ras Koh Mts., Kharan, Balochistan, Pakistan

This epidote specimen is from a recent find in the western Pakistani Mountains that revealed a completely unique and highly aesthetic "bow tie" shape. Sprays of dark green, lustous epidote form this sharp clusters in a just lovely way.
This specimen strikes with a playful, catchy shape and very good quality alike. A broken crystal at the front is long re-healed and thus all natural, as is the rest of this complete and all brilliant floater specimen!

YP525 - Calcite with Mottramite - Sold
Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Tsumeb, Namibia
Size: 14.7 x 9.4 x 8.8 cm

This is a wonderful specimen of colorless calcite from Tsumeb in very good cabinet size! The calcite comes in rhombohedral, transparent crystals the largest of which reach around 3 cm in diameter. A rather large number of those crystals is arranged on a sublime matrix of bordeaux-red siderite and bright green mottramite that provides a great play of colors to support the colorless calcite. The special piece is very 3-dimensional and showing a great architecture! All in all this is a rich specimen of high quality that is free of any relevant damage!

OA464 - Smoky Quartz Gwindel - Sold
Dammastock, Göschener Alp, Göschenen, Uri, Switzerland
Size: 4.3 x 2.9 x 1.2 cm
Watch Video

As you can immediately see in the picture, this piece shows very unusual growth: Like a 2.1 cm broad gwindel grown atop the 2.9 cm broat base. To anticipate your question: This crystal is completely perfect and what looks like a break is all re-crystallized and obviously happened aeons ago, long before the narrower part of the gwindel grew along. The gwindel is of the closed variant which is even more rare. The body is completely impid without any inclusions or internal cracks! Very much unique and of best quality!

Small but oh, how beautiful! This 3 cm piece of matrix shapes a small vug lined with quartz microcrystals of rusty orange color. Right of the center of this array is a single spray of gemmy blue linarite. The tabular crystals are strikingly brilliant with intensive color and top notch luster! This lovely specimen has some history and includes a label from John Passaneau. Absolutely wonderful in person and of great perfection!

Rose quartz, the lovely pink variety of quartz, is the rarest and thus highest valued of the quartz family. But of course it's not only the rarity but most of all the striking beauty that makes this species so treasured among collectors! Sparkling luster, a nicely balanced composition and intensive pink color are features of this beautiful specimen! The whole piece is in exceptionally well condition with only some contacts but no actual damage. A splendid rose quartz from Brazil that strikes with intensive color!

Pizzo Lucendro, St. Gotthard Massiv, Tessin, Switzerland
Size: 2.5 x 1.7 x 1.3 cm

Phenakite is a rare colorless gemstone that might easily be mistaken for adularia by strahlers. But the chances of you having a disguised phenakite in your cases is slim as this mineral is so extremely rare in the Alpine region! This specimen is an outstanding one dispite its thumbnail size. The sharply defined crystal shows very best luster and a mostly gemmy interior. It is a complete crystal without any damage! A rare chance for this uncommon mineral especially as there is no chlorite present which impairs most Alpine phenakite. Absolutely fantastic in person!

JC156 - Quartz - Sold
Val Bedretto, Tessin, Switzerland
Size: 18.7 x 12 x 8 cm

The matrix is a complex, if not chaotic assebly of schist, quartz and feldspar with limonite and some rutile needles. Protruding from this sparkling chaos stands a single towering quart of brilliant quality! The tapering tessin quartz shows beautiful striations with best luster and is completely glassy! A fantastic and undamaged specimen with a winning character of untamed nature!

UJ396 - Quartz Sceptre - Sold
Forsterbachtal, Rauris, Pinzgau, Salzburg, Austria
Size: 7 x 2.5 x 1.8 cm

This sceptre is absolutely brilliant from bottom to tip! Pristine colorless quartz with a sharp, gemmy, wet-look luster termination! The broad stem shows some side-crystals of quartz, calcite and what under the microscope appears to be orange prehnite on the front. Surface structure and those orange blooms somehow resemble a heart shape which makes this specimen additionally charming and almost unreal. I love this crystal and I got the feeling it loves me back!

It's a jewel of a quartz crystal that features fantastic luster, glassy interior and a sweeping composition of interlocked crystals. It is a complete floater without any damage or even abrasion. Some inclusions of orange-brown limonite add color to the otherwise glassy quartz.

AO535 - Amethyst - Sold
Mörchnerkar, Zemmgrund, Zillertal, Tyrol, Austria

It's a very unusual amethyst with a large and highly complex sceptre head. The piece must have detached from the matrix during development so the stem is terminated while there are some contacts on the backside and the tip. Due to this contacted tip we decided to turn it upside down so that now you can see the white stem protruding from the top. Like this the 6 cm glassy sceptre head with lovely purple patches is the main attraction and presents its structured, waxy surface dominantly. A very nice, unusual, convoluted piece that rewards a close examination!
