AK5 - Quartz Gwindel - Sold

This is a totally glassy, colorless jewel, virtually flawless and beautifully developed! The gwindel itself is relatively thick (1.8 cm), thus the twist is not too strong. It is totally water-clear with a lustrous surface at the main view. At the bottom there is some additional quartz, acting as a matrix and making the piece even more interesting in terms of aesthetics!

Fully loaded with glassy smoky quartz crystals this plate enchantingly sparkles in proper showcase light! All crystals are flawless and highly lustrous. The color varies a little where larger crystals generally show a darker brown, smaller ones are almost colorless. Like hidden in plain sight is a rather large gwindel(!) at the center of the piece but wich is 90° rotated and thus exposing its pointed side. A brilliant discovery!
Best crystal quality and great outline are combined on this masterly smoky quartz specimen. Have a look on our video which stunningly displays the incredible luster on all sides!

One of the very best pieces from the Weißeck "Gipfelkluft" that shows fascinating color zoning of blue and purple. The specimen features cubical crystals to 3 cm on edge with spectacular surface structure. It was found, together with only two other pieces, in a hole that opened deep inside the fluorite vein, where it was protected from the humic acid. The bottom is contacted, not broken. After many years in the collection of my father, Anton Watzl sen. this spectacular piece is now again available!


WZ8 - Schwazite - Sold

Singel isolated schwazite crystals are perched on a vivid grey dolomite and quartz matrix, associated with some green copper mineral, probably ...... This composition is very much appealing with great contrast and distinctive crystals. Most of the surface, even at the backside, is crystallized and in very good condition. The largest schwazite crystal - or Mercurian Tetrahedrite which is the scientifically correct name - is 1 cm in diameter and flawless!

There has been a new find of magnificent epidote specimens in the Zhob District in Pakistan. This especially fine specimen strikes with excellent quality and aesthetics alike! This piece is completely perfect all around. The very sculptural, fragile epidote is accompanied by snow-white albite which adds much to the already striking aesthetics of this piece! There is no damage anywhere. Even the smallest, most fragile epidote needles are fully intact. The “X”-shape makes this a very much attractive and unique specimen of best quality and aesthetics from this intriguing new find!

A lovely twin tourmaline specimen of brilliant quality and nice open colors! The two crystals are not quite parallel - they show a slight yet aesthetically important v-shape that leads to two sharp cut pyramidal terminations. The gemmy crystal displays distinct color zoning, from pink to green, white and pink again at the termination. Very lovely and in flawless condition!

A single spinel crystal with lovely, glassy pink color is set on a contrasting white calcite matrix. The crystal is 1.7 cm in diameter and shows nice transparency and superb luster on all sides with no abrasions of any kind of damage. Our video shows a nice three dimensional view that leaves no doubt about the quality of this fine specimen!

The colorful combination of purple amethyst with crimson red hematite inclusions is uniquely beautiful and utterly fascinating in person! The inclusions on this specimen are especially rich, concentrated at the tips of the short pyramidal quartz crystals. With some backlight you can very nicely see the different zones of white quartz at the core, purple amethyst and fire red hematite inclusions towards the tips. The backside is completely crystallized and the overall condition is excellent.
The Moon Light mine is one of the lesser know localities at Thunder Bay as there is no public collecting allowed there. This specimen however is a beautiful exemplar from this rare occurrance!

Congo is by far the worlds best region for primary malachite. This specimen shows a rosette of interleaved lustrous forest green malachite, all very sharp and dramatic. The backside is broken or contacted but the main view is quite spectacular for the mineral and shows no considerable damage. A massive and rare primary malachite specimen of uncommon crystallization!

A very good cluster of rose quartz and smoky quartz with perfectly crystallized front AND backside. Due to the thin architecture this specimen is especially easy to illuminate with some backlight! Great luster and lovely color make this quite the appealing specimen!

The quality of this topaz is absolutely top notch in every respect! The amazing crystal is completely glassy from bottom to top without even the slightest impurities! The termination is sharp and lustous. There is one repair near the bottom but the rest is all in fantastic condition and breathtakingly gemmy!
The color is a mix of orange with pink clouds in the middle which is fascinating in person. The 2.6 cm long crystal is set on a feldspar/quartz matrix that’s unusually nice for the locale. Our video shows the incredible quality of this crystal!
