This combination of quartz and adularia is crystallized all around with a group of glassy quartz at the front and a nice adularia covered landscape at the back. The bottom is contacted but re-crystallized. The overall condition is very good but there is one damaged crystal at the front.
This massive 3.6 kg quartz group was found by my father Anton Watzl senior in 1987 near the "Neue Thüringer Hütte". It rested inside a 5 meter deep cleft together with smaller specimens like adularia, titanite and skeletal quartz. Both crystals are of excellent quality, glassy and lustrous. The condition is overall very good. One crystal is damaged at the tip but luckily that is not visible from the front. The bottom is not broken but contacted or re-crystallized after detachment. During extraction from the cleft the two crystals went apart and had to be glued together but that is nothing you would easily see. Size, quality and composition make this an eye-catcher of pure Alpine quartz!
An azurite floater aggregate of lovely crystallization all around with no damage or contact anywhere to be found. This shape is classic for the now unactive locale near La Sal. The azurite is flashy and sparkling with hundreds of wedge shaped crystals. At some spots there are hidden hints of malachite, the rest is just pure blue joy without compromise!
A rather monstrous rutile from the famous locale Binntal. The prismatic crystal is jet-black with metallic luster and in very good condition with only one or two minimal dings. A large and very well defined crystal of great quality!
Clear water-blue fluorite cubes are set on an attractive rock matrix that has a lovely white surface, studded with small golden pyrite. The fluorite is clear through and through so that you can see right to the matrix and the dark purple fluorites that are grown there. A gorgeous specimen of nice hand size and impressive quality! There is no damage present, only flawless beauty wherever you look!
This is a marvelous single calcite crystals of massive size and pristine quality! It is transparent, lustrous and with a perfect, beautifully structrued termination. When you turn it around in daylight this crystal awakens to life and multifacettedly reflects the light in rainbow colors! Absolutely stunning in person!
Spectacular crystal of twinned cassiterite in very best shape and quality! The jet-black cassiterite is 7.8 cm in diameter and shows absolutely best luster on all sides! The backside has some contacts at the lower parts but the front is pure beauty with silvery white muscovite and some colorless fluorite which is uncommon for the locale!
A fantastic, sharp and dominant cassiterite specimen from the important locale at Xuebaoding Mountain!
The main aquamarine is a gemmy, lustrous and virtually flawless exemplar with intensive blue color! Its termination is flat but with slight bevells at the corners which adds some elegance. The aquamarine is accompanied by three smaller crystals that are attached to the side, right above a small piece of white feldspar. Lovely textbook aesthetics and impressive quality are united on this beautiful specimen!
This rare mossy green topazolite cluster is nicely composed on white matrix. The crystals, especially the main crystal with a striking 1.6 cm in diameter, are brilliantly lustrous and glassy with distinct striation. With only some minor edgewear and beautiful on all sides this specimen is worthy for any showcase.
On etched specimens like this you have to look really carefully to not overlook imperfections. But in this case i got lucky anyway as there are none! The crystal is perfectly clear, a floater and in outstanding condition. While the main part is colorless or with a greenish tinge, there is some vague purple color almost hidden inside this crystal. Fascinating and in a way mesmerizing, this fluorite is a wondrous phenomenon all around!
This is an exceptionally distinct piece with a single crystal of pyrite ps. pyrrhotite on a beautiful grey and white matrix. At the sides you can see a second generation of pyrite crystals. Being perched on such a nice matrix the outline of the crystal is very clear and salient. As a very 3-dimensional piece this specimen is an impressive view in any showcase!
