This marvelous little amethyst strikes with a well defined sceptre habit, a sharp and flawless termination as well as superb aesthetics! The lovely purple sceptre head is set on a colorless stem. At the foot of this stem you can see some glistening mica and a small quartz side-crystal. All this combined results in perfect and amazingly beautiful textbook aesthetics! The reason for the comparatively low price is a hardly visible repair on the line between stem and head, while the rest is all perfect and in flawless condition!
A complete and almost perfect single crystal amethyst that looks ordinary at first but really knows to impress the longer you look! The glassy and free of any inpurities interior is a mesmerizing play of colorless zones and intensive purple clouds. The surface has beautiful windows at the smooth, slightly frosted prism faces. The doubly terminated (!!!) crystal shows two very well developed pyramids. What looks damaged at the tip is but a small irregular growing that is encrusted with some limonite. One small chip at the bottom termination is the only issue here, the rest is free of even the slightest abrasions. Very attractive in person and of exceptional quality!
Crystals from this locale are known for their remarkable color that exceeds virtually everything that has been seen before 2008, when the material from Astor Valley first appeard. The single tetragonal crystal shows impressive, gemmy cherry red color and is distinctly developed. With a size of 1.5 cm on edge and a total length considerably over 2 cm it is a formidable crystal and very well situated on matrix.
Specimens of such excellent aesthetics and crystal quality are hard to come by and a gain for every showcase!
Really amazing here is the clear, elegant and simply beautiful aesthetics.
Unlike the usual geodes that come from this region this specimen was discovered as a freely grown, extremely well crystallized specimen which is rare and stunning already!
The solid main crystal with brilliant quality and very strong purple color at the sharp pyramidal termination stands at the center of bright and glassy side crystals fanning out around its base.
The overall quality is absolutely superb and there is hardly any abrasions except for maybe one or two peripheral dings.
I was able to get this one from Munich based collector Malte Sickinger who had it on display at the special exhibition at the 2019 Munich Show.
Epidote from the Alpine type clefts of Pakistan are a well known species that impresses with gemmy quality and a multitude of different shapes!
This is a lovely aggregate of fragile but undamaged crystals. As a floater it has only a small contact but no breaks. Very handsome and appealing!
Pyrite of this unusual spherical architecture and such exceptionally aesthetical design is totally unique for this locale and the Austrian Alps as a whole!
Two balls of pyrite with a rust brown patina are prominently set on a very nice vivid matrix that is a combination of mica-schist with feldspar micro-crystals and orange/brown limonite. The pyrite is in very best shape and without even the smallest abrasions! This is a gorgeous specimen of utter importance for the locale!
It's an elegant sculpture of bright yellow brucite on a small piece of rock matrix. The brucite shows very best color and quality with wonderful luster and transparency! It is perfect all around which is hard to imagine on a delicate piece like this. An exceptional and highly appealing piece of this bright mineral!
A complex group of tourmaline crystals of different character, arranged on an amorphous tourmaline-matrix. The main crystal at the top is for sure the most striking one as it shows absolutely brilliant gemmy quality, a perfect pointed termination and nice open colors that range from pink to a greenish yellow tip. The other crystals have a flat termination but are also highly lustrous, undamaged and colorful. Some are translucent, some have a gemmy, intensively pink core. The overall aesthetics is somewhat chaotic but rich with very nice tourmalines of high quality! There are several very well done repairs but which aren't visible at all.
Adularia, pericline and chlorite are all stacked upon each other on this very attractive, distinctly three-dimensional specimen. The piece was found around 1993 by Gerhard and Hannes Hofer and made it's way to Austrian collectors Karl Podpeskar and Dr. Reinhard Dallinger (both labels are enclosed with the piece). Despite its age the piece lost nothing of its brilliance and is free of any damage. Even the backside is completely crystallized and beautiful. A charming specimen of amazing Alpine character!
This brilliant and sparkling shard of quartz is a complete floater with only minimal and hard to notice abrasions. The quartz is transparent, complex and lustrous on front and backside. Some chlorite and limonite add a spark of life to this sharp and sweeping sculpture!
A complex stepped pyrite with nice bronze colored patina all over. The crystal is attached to some white feldspar at the back and bottom but is otherwise pure pyrite in near-perfect condition. Shape and color of this specimen are unusual and beautiful in person!
This tourmaline shows dramatic size and amazing colors! The specimen was found in Novo Cruceiro and went to the collection of French collector Labyey Andre in 1987, where it stayed until recently. This crystal is of just beautiful and elegant appearance. The blueish color of the main body contrasts with the dark strawberry red of the main termination and several smaller terminations of intergrown side-crystals. Superb luster, a translucent colorful crystals body, outstanding condition and a shape that opens towards the top. This singel crystal tourmaline is more than the sum of its attributes. It is not repaired and has virtually no flaws!
