Composition and Quality of this specimen are simply spectacular. A beautifully red octahedral fluorite crystal is accompanied by adularia and smoky quartz on this piece. The crystal is 3.6 cm on edge and shows a nicely structured surface and very good luster. Provided with a sharp contrast, this fluorite offers a wonderful composition. The backside of the crystals is contacted but shows no damage. A brilliant piece of exceptional aesthetics!
The fan-shape of lustrous epidote crystals is quite characteristic for the locale that produced a rich amount of fine epidote specimens in the 90s but is closed ever since. The crystals are generally opaque but show bright gemmy green patches and an overall green shimmer at direct downlight. All crystals are sharp and lustrous and perfectly arranged to form this highly aesthetic specimen. The size is quite remarkable and exceeds the majority of comparable Pampa Blanca epidote fans! Almost perfect all around and stunningly beautiful!
This dominant single quartz crystal shows brilliant quality, is sharp and flawless. The bottom is completely crystallized making this a perfect floater. The quartz body is transparent with some "clouds" but no internal cracks. The surface shows beautiful striation, causing sparkling reflections at direct illumination. The very tip of this large crystal is contacted but - as you can very well see at closer inspection - not damaged. A great and dramatic quartz crystal of high quality!
A very fine and unusual paragenesis from Inner Mongolia! Two transparent dodecahedral fluorite crystal, perfect all around and glassy, are acting as a base for a delicate structure of elongated, scaly quartz, some more fluorite and iron-black ilvaite. The perfectly crystallized backside also holds some white feldspar. The whole thing is in pristine condition and a floater. The piece has perfect hand-size, a stunning and unique specimen of exceptional aesthetics and highest quality!
This huge and heavy calcite specimen was found around 20 years ago and was since then in my fathers collection. It is a massive piece of rock, overgrown with scalenohedral calcite. The calcite is white with yellowish tips which is due to iron oxide. There is some damage here but which is hardly avoidable on a large scale specimen like this.
Two glassy interlocked fluorite crystals of very good quality are set on a beautiful cluster of white calcite. The overall picture is amazingly attractive and there is no damage to be found. Also the backside is just a little contacted, not broken. Very lovely specimen from this classic locale!
One single anatase crystal on a diversified matrix that provides a nice contrast and a very fine aesthetics. Most impressive about this specimen is the size of the crystal that is about 11mm long and 6 mm thick! The bottom of this specimen is cut but to be honest, it's all about the impressive anatase!
A large, heavy and totally impressive floater-specimen of pure galena, crystallized in cubo-octahedral habit and associated with beautiful white calcite, especially at the backside and periphery. The backside also holds some smaller patches of chalcopyrite.
Galena crystals range from a few millimeters to around 2.5 centimeters, show mirroring luster and "melted" edges. There is no damage anywhere which is a small miracle on a heavy piece like this! Wonderfully aesthetic and alegant, full of pretty details and impressive in size and quality!
This single crystal specimen strikes with exceptionally high luster and good clarity from bottom to top. The bottom is partly contacted, partly crystallized but nowhere broken. Around the tip there are some abrasions but the rest is in top condition. Very nice crystal with sceptre character and great overall quality!
An impressive skeletal quartz specimen from the famous emerald-locality Habachtal. The piece is rather massive, very much transparent and nicely lustrous. While the backside still shows the prismatic shape of the original crystal, the front is way too heavily etched. There is no visible damage anywhere!
Rare and imposing with a sligth smoky tinge, this is an unusually well specimen from this famous locale!
It's a wonderful Shigar Valley paragenesis that combines white albite with surrounding silvery muscovite and a rich number of sparkling red spessartine crystals, distributed over the whole specimen. The bottom is contacted but the rest is in flawless condition all over! The little garnets with sizes up to 8mm are bright red, well defined and lustrous. Very aesthetic and elegant!
Typical for the cavrein valley and still unusual. The crystals of this piece are nicely grown on a matrix of greenish byssolite and are free of damage. On the left side of the specimen you see a zone of interaction between quartz and calcite, which is indeed typical for this locale. While the calcite is dissolved, the quartz remains and offers an insight in its pattern of growth. A fascinating piece for the locale.
