The shape of this high quality tourmaline crystal is absolutely unique and elegant in its very own unusual way! While the base at least indicates a typical tourmaline habit, this completely changes from there on and the crystal tapers towards a 3mm thick and a little over 1 cm long glassy blade at the top. This last part is slightly greenish to almost colorless which stands in contrast to the intensively pink colored main part. The overall quality is just excellent with brilliant luster and a glassy crystal core. It is repaired but which is very well done and hardly visible. An amazingly beautiful tourmaline specimen!
This topaz specimen is most impressive for its size and also for its unusual growth! It comes from a staggering 2017 find near a farm in Fazenda do Centro, Brazil. The exceptional and rather spectacular pocket yielded a number of skeletal topaz of different colors that are absolutely unique in the world! The floater crystals of this pocket are of unique shape due to heavy 3-dimensional etchings and razor-sharp etches! This specimen is beautifully etched all around and with a wonderful glassy ice-blue color that changes to champagne at the small extension at the very bottom! Bicolor topaz is extremely rare, but bicolor skeletal topaz is almost impossible to get! The main view is all complete and flawless. On the backside you see breaks but which are not exactly fresh but re-healed. Small edge-wear is present but also not visible from the front. Most spectacular is probably the incredibly beautiful surface structure that you can very well see in the second picture. It displays a wealth of little details that is rather overwhelming in its very own natural charm! The crystal itself is clear to the center without even the slightest impurities or internal cracks! A unique piece from this exceptional one-time find in Brazil!
Switzerland is not exactly known for great scheelite which makes this striking little specimen even more exceptional! The well defined crystal is sharp and has a beautiful caramel color! It is in very best condition all around with a small quartz crystal stuck to the side. A marvelous rarity of its intensive color and sharp octahedral shape!
A combination of two smoky quartz crystals is set at the center of this nice flat rock matrix, associated with some smaller smoky quartz. The crystals are completely clear at the inside and show the attractive brown color that is characteristic for the locale. The unusual crystal habit is that of two left-handed crystals with partly visible beginning bottom terminations and shared terminal faces. All those resulting angles give the quartz a counterclockwise twist which defines it as a gwindel. Beautiful aesthetics and high crystal quality in very best condition!
Distinctive shape and quality of this little sceptre specimen are really just brilliant. The fact that it is repaired at the divide between stem and head as well as chips at the lower backside might hurt a bit but none of that is visible from the front. On the plus side we have intensive purple color, a glassy crystal, sharp and distinctive shape and a nice lustrous surface. A very attractive specimen if you can live with an imprefect backside.
A perfect arrangement of green quartz crystals from the famous locale on Serifos Island. This exceptionally nice piece was found in the 90s by Alfred Kugler and has been in his personal collection since then. The crystals are translucent jade-green with nice waxy luster and in all best condition!
Botryoidal brucite form this rich aggregate that strikes with intensive juicy yellow color and marvelous quality! The brucite is gemmy and highly lustrous and overall in very best condition. Unlike many pieces we have seen this one has some matrix which adds a nice contrast to the otherwise uniformly yellow aggregate.
It's a highly attractive titanite specimen with association of pericline and chlorite. The main crystal is sharp, lustrous and gemmy with a strong moss-green color. It is complete and flawless. The surrondings is made of white pericline, titanite side crystals and silvery chlorite. The whole specimen is in excellent condition with only a contact at the backside but no damage!
This blocky rutile is of an unusual type, very unlike what we are used to from the Alps. The single crystal is 1.7 x 1.2 cm large and of a short prismatic habit. It shows waxy luster and is completely opaque. Condition is fine with only a small ding but no actual damage. The rutile is grown into a quartz/feldspar matrix which nicely emphasizes the black crystal.
A highly aesthetic and distinctive specimen of one honey yellow calcite on a snow-white mordenite matrix. The crystal is totally perfect, translucent and a real marvel.
The main crystal on this attractive matrix specimen is 5.5 cm long, sharp and exceptionally lustrous. It is accompanied by a number of equally good side crystals on a white feldspar matrix. Very aesthetic and in overall best condition!
What a gorgeous specimen! The doubly terminated quartz is beautifully presented atop a group of equally brilliant crystal which creates a unique and stunning look! The crystal is flawless, glassy, sharply defined and highly lustrous on all sides. Only downside is a completely invisible repair. The main quartz detached from the top of its supporting crystal and had to be re-attached. Apart from that this piece is spectacular and pristine!
