Habach valley has produced a small number of very fine skeletal quartz specimens. This one is a complete floater with no damage whatsoever. The crystal is completely etched and leaves no clue about the original shape. It is all transparent without any includions. The chlorite you see in the picture is filling some of the gaps but does not continue into the quartz itself. Very nice 3-dimensional shape and great quality all around!
Unusual yet highly appealing in its very own way. The main body of this specimen is a contrasting gossan matrix with veins of brilliantly lustrous azurite. One prominent azurite aggregate freely stands out from the matrix and draws all the attention. Best luster, superb blue color and a perfect termination are absolutely impressive and just beautiful. With no damage to worry about and a catchy, natural composition this is a most desirable piece in person!
A solid, colorless single cerussite crystal of best luster and clarity. Its shape is a characteristic sixling-twin habit. The crystal is complete all around with only minor abrasions. A smaller side-crystal is damaged but which is not apparent at all. Cerussite is definitely one of the minerals Tsumeb is most renowned for. This specimen is a fantastic example for the high quality standard set at this most famous locale. Absolutely amazing!
A massive grey bolder with a sparkling front face, all covered in calcite and satiated green dioptase. The dioptase crystals are small - up to around 4 mm - but all gemmy, transparent and lustrous with lovely little calcite atop. Some damage and contacts are evident but the overall impression is that of a 3-dimensional landscape of fine, sparkling crystallization. A characteristic Tsumeb specimen.
A fine doubly terminated elbaite aesthetically lies across a matrix of white albite. The multicolored tourmaline is 4.7 cm long and around 2 cm thick. It has a sharp termination with lustous faces that shines with a lovely pink color. Below the pink is a layer of fresh apple green that changes to a very dark mossy green at the middle part of the crystal. I especially love the composition of this single crystal on a contrasting white matrix. As a floater specimen it shows no contacts or breaks. For a better understanding of color and quality I suggest a look on our video!
This is an impressive piece, large and with exceptional luster. It is a 3-dimensional floater that is a virtually perfect all around. Yes, smaller edge wear is inevitably on a massy piece like this, but honestly, it is surprisingly scarce on this excellent specimen. I totally love the imposing yet lovely aesthetics, the dashy outline, the brilliant quality. A real eye-catcher that might serve as a center-piece in any collection of fine peruvian minerals. Have a look on the video, and you will know what I mean!
Two tourmaline crystals of amazing color-play are grown together to form this unique piece. The crystals do not need much light to reveal their intense colors that range from mossy green to a juicy raspberry red. The terminations are perfect, with only one re-healed chip. A specimen of impressive colors and nice arrangement.
One single titanite crystal, 2.1 cm long and 1.2 cm broad, sits enthroned atop a beautiful matrix, a combination of quartz, calcite, pericline and chlorite. The titanite is of pleasant apple green color, highly lustrous and translucent. There is one tiny, barely discernible chip at the backside but which is more than negligible on a unique and aesthetic piece like this. Outstanding in every way!
This dramatic titanite is out of a spectacular new find from spring 2016. A massy piece of solid titanite, incredible 10.8 cm long and 2.6 cm thick! It is a perfect floater that is absolutely flawless and impressive all around. The backside is partly encrusted with some matrix, chlorite, iron oxide and albite which provides a very lively, landscape-like view. The front is lustrous, sharp edged and of typical mossy green color. The greatest part is free of chlorite which is unusual for the locale. This is definitely one of the very larges and best titanite specimen we have seen coming the Alps.
A wonderful, marvelous piece of Alpine fluorite on matrix. The pink octahedrons are tightly packed on a snow-white matrix, accompanied by some brilliant quartz crystals. The fluorite is mostly transparent, lustrous and generally in fine condition. Some contacts here and there do not disturb from the overall visual splendor of this classy specimen. The quartz on the upper left was moving just a little, why we stabilized it to make sure not to get it loose. Absolutely breathtaking in person and a real Alpine rarity of highest quality!
Rather simple in design yet still impressive due to its imposing size of close to 20 cm! The single crystal is transparent from bottom to top with medium to good luster on all sides. The termination is flawless with only some chlorite which makes the edges a bit rough. The bottom is actually another flawless termination though a jagged one. A rare find of impressive size and quality!
The hexagonal shape of the hematite specimen is very dominant, emphasised by the iridescent effect of mirroring hematite petals. The heavy iron oxide is accompanied by a small group of transparent quartz to the left and a botryoidal group of silvery muscovite to the right, which makes for a very much unique and definitely amazing overall composition! Both front and backside are nicely crystallized and in best condition. A unique, dramatic and just beautiful Alpine hematite specimen!
