Really attractive and interesting is this malachite after azurite from Touissit! The whole specimen is distinctively three-dimensional with a limonite matrix that is studded with small azurites and dolomites and malachite which makes the whole piece exceptionally lively! Atop this matrix is a single star shaped aggregate of azurites that are partly pseudomorph transformed into malachite. Some of the transformed crystals are a bit weathered but none has any damage. It is an unusual specimen that we bought from the Viennese copper-mineral collector Thomas Weiland.

DR446 - Quartz, Calcite, Chalcopyrite - 680€
Boldut Mine, Cavnic, Maramures Co., Romania

The combination of chalcopyrite and quartz with calcite is well known for the Boldut mine but I must say that this one is especially nice when it comes to contrast and crystal quality. Single isolated glassy white quartz crystals stand amidst chalcopyrite that comes as grey blocks with sharp golden shiny individuals in between. Also the white/pinkish calcite rose is of lovely shape and in very best condition!

A new find near the city of Hyderabad has recently produced a number of amazing phantom quartz specimens. This one is an aesthetic group in very good condition and with distinctive and beautiful hematite phantoms in each and every one of the glassy quartz crystals! Especially the larger crystals have very strong phantoms embedded in water-clear quartz! The lower half is mostly contacted but not broken.
