The main quartz of this exceedingly well developed specimen is a 6.4 cm long smoky quartz, accompanied by several side-crystals that is lying on a lovely landscape of crytallized adularia. The condition of this whole specimen is incredibly good. I can’t see any damage or even abrasions at all! The quartz itself shows nice brown color, it is lustrous and transparend and, as mentioned, free of any damage.
This remarkable rutile specimen was found in 1997 in the Grieswies area. It is naturally formed and appealing all around. On top of the silvery schist matrix with scattered calcites sits a group of rutile crystals up to 3.8 cm long, which is utterly impressive. Unfortunately one of the crystals is broken at the upper end. Nevertheless, the size and quality of the crystals, as well as the appealing natural aesthetics are really impressive and make this an elegant specimen for any collection of Alpine minerals!
This is a stunning floater specimen of pure pyrite from Wolfskofel, a peak in the Italian Ahrn valley. Very beautiful interlocked pyrite crystals with an attractive rusty brown patina! The whole piece is in superb condition with only minimal abrasion at the bottom. The backside has a fine coating of crystallized feldspar.
