An outstandingly beautiful smoky quartz from Val Giuv that features a prominent main crystal surrounded by smaller secondary crystals. Particularly worth mentioning is the spectacular luster, the stunning clarity and the intense, warm brown color! The pyramidal faces of the quartz are coated with fine chlorite, but still shine because there is actually only minimal chlorite present. The main crystal is 100% flawless and the secondary crystals are also largely undamaged. A truly excellent piece of superb quality!

This piece really struck me when I first saw it! What a magnificent composition!
Four main crystals are protruding from the top, associated with smaller side-crystals and – most importantly – brilliant white adularia. The vibrant contrast of moky quartz and adularia really makes this piece special! The smoky quartz crystals are all flawless, lustrous and transparent and they have some very nice chlorite inclusions. A rough patch on the right crystal looks damaged at first glance but is in fact all re-crystallized and perfect. Only on the back you can find a single broken side-crystals but the rest is all perfect here too. The white adularia too is in incredibly well condition, nicely crystallized and brilliant. On the backside, as you can see in our video, there is some green epidote present which is quite characteristic for Val Giuv.

The quality and shape of this little quartz specimen are really just spectacular. This is a combination of two water-clear and super-sharp crystals in prime condition! The special thing here is certainly the tremendous crystal quality, which doesn't get any better than this! On the back, you can see fiery red rutile needles, some of which are visible through the crystal. An impressive little piece that is also in excellent condition.

RL361 - Smoky Quartz - 1800€
Weißspitze, Frosnitztal, East Tyrol, Austria
Size: 8.8 x 8.7 x 5 cm
Watch Video

This is a rather unusual specimen: Although it is a piece of pure quartz, it could not be more diverse. It combines a single smoky quartz surrounded by white quartz crystals, creating a beautiful contrast. The crystals are of first-class quality and undamaged. The smoky quartz, in particular, shows a complex, multi-layered architecture.
Behind the smoky quartz is a deep fissure that is crystallized on all sides, like a crystal cave. Underneath is white quartz, which seems to have detached from the rock matrix a long time ago. The surface is finely crystallized and partly shows a fine iron oxide coating. A floater of stunning beauty!

This is a lovely combination of quartz with calcite, muscovite and hematite. The flawless quartz main crystal is accompanied by some side-crystals, all in best condition and quality. To the left, a band of white calcite scalenohedrons stretches across the rock matrix, which in turn is covered with a silvery bed of shiny muscovite. At the front you can see a small group of shiny metallic hematites, which is characteristic of the site and rounds off the entire piece very nicely.
