Let's get directly to the point: The color of this azurite specimen is just fantastic! At direct illumination you see a sheer fireworks of sparkling crystal faces and vibrant blue color. The quality is absolutely amazing and a good example for the stuff that comes out of Milpillas Mine. Prominently sitting on a piece of matrix with some smaller spots of malachite really benefits the overall aesthetics. Some very minor edgewear is barely discernible over the blindening beauty of this great piece!
It is a rich piece of bournonite from Baia Sprie that shows a nice classic aesthetics! The individual cog wheel shaped bournonite crystals are set on a a massive black matrix. Between these crystals is some golden shimmering chalcopyrite which lightens up the dark, grim landscape and adds some life and contrast! A well shaped specimen with single isolated crystals up to 1,3 cm in diameter. It is in perfect condition with only peripheral contacts but no damage at all!
It is an elongated single crystal of tourmaline that is exceptionally gemmy and lustrous with a distinct water-blue color that is easily visible despite the rather thin crystal. Towards the sharp pyramidal termination you can see a short mossy green zone which adds much to the overall impression of the piece! Despite the fact that this is a single crystal it shows a very much unique and attractive design which is due to its unusual “bow” at the lower end. Also this part of the crystal is studded with some white feldspar which adds a lovely visual effect! Have a look on our video for a better 3-dimensional view!
This is no ordinary amethyst specimen like the ones from Brazil or Uruguay but it sparkles with blood red hematitet inclusions just below the surface. Amethyst of the "Thunder Bay style" is exceptionally beautiful for the strong colors: intensive purple amethyst studded with deep red hematite! The inclusions on this specimen are especially rich and fill up almost all of the pyramidal quartz crystals. Around the periphery where it is broken you can nicely see the different color zones. White at the bottom, intensively purple on the upper half and with a thin zone of red hematite. The surface shows wet-look luster and is mesmerizingly beautiful! The Moon Light mine is one of the lesser know localities at Thunder Bay - there is no public collecting allowed there - but this specimen has the absolutely top quality!
One single, massive pyrite dodecahedron of exceptionally bright luster and sharp development! The crystal is a complete floater without any damage or even abrasion. It is modified on the backside but the front is distinctively defined and impressive! Among the plentitude of pyrite that is being found in Peru, this crystal stands out in its simplicity, built from only the best of ingredients: bright luster, sharp edges, fine striations and a complex dodecahedral crystal shape!
This is a wonderful exemplar of tourmaline on quartz matrix that shows sweeping aesthetics! Most dramatic about this specimen are the two doubly terminated tourmaline crystals, the larger of which reaches 6.7 cm, that protrude from the quartz. Both are of beautiful and very intensive blue color towards the terminations with a completely colorless zone in the center. This color combination is extremely rare and just lovely in person! The terminations are very well developed and in best condition with only minimal edge-wear. The matrix is somewhat contacted around the periphery but to the most parts are crystallized with smaller quartz and tourmalines. This is an outstanding specimen featuring beautiful and gemmy tourmaline of distinctive color and on matrix!
