These sharp red hexagonal vanadinite crystals are set on a very nice contrasting white barite matrix which really emphasizes the crystals! The largest crystal has a diameter of 1 cm which is not huge but this piece is more about general aesthetics. The condition is fine with only some peripheral exfoliation on the barite but no damaged crystals.
A very nice, compact apatite crystal that shows best shiny luster on all sides! The inside is partly obscured by some cracks and inclusions but large parts are gemmy and transparent. The main crystal is accompanied by a smaller second one which adds some character despite being free of matrix. Rough parts around the periphery are due to limonite encrusting not damaged.
This V-shaped smoky quartz specimen is a real jewel. Extremely high quality meets a strikin shape. Both crystals are glassy through and through with fantastic luster and perfect pointed terminations. The small amount of matrix very much enhances the overall aesthetics of this lovely piece. A floater with right-handed quartz that has no downsides whatsoever.
The beautiful chocolat brown color immediately tells you one thing: This small cabinet smoky quartz comes from the Swiss locale Val Giuv!Admittedly there is some minor damage present but nothing very obvious from the front view. The crystals are all glassy with very good luster on all sides, especially the largest crystal with 2.2 cm in diameter shows best quality and color. Very pretty on all sides and characteristic for the locale!
This piece is from a very small find of wire-silver at the Andaychagua Mine, a commercial mine for zinc, lead, copper and silver. The white quartz matrix is interwoven with bright silver veins that reappear on all sides and sweepingly reach out as thing threads and feather-like structures. Very nice and three-dimensional with tons of beautiful details!
The aesthetics of this smaller piece is just about perfect! One single crystal of dark smoky quartz protrudes from a whitish matrix plate, accompanied by smaller side crystals that support its figurative weight. The crystal is free of damage and internal cracks, shows nice surface structure and good luster. Between the side crystals you can find several small hematite roses as is characteristic for the locale. The matrix is cut at the bottom but otherwise of fine, natural appearance. An elegant piece of good quality!
This stack of twinned adularia crystals shows excellent quality, much better and clearer as you are used to from this species. Luster is great all around but most importantly there are large parts of gemmy clear adularia which is extremely rare in this extent! The whole piece is complete and flawless with a contact at the back that is all re-crystallized and perfect. A brilliant and outstanding piece for this otherwise common material!
Large crystal size is definitely the most prominent feature of this specimen! The main crystal is a well developed titanite interlocked with smaller ones which makes this an attractive specimen with 3-dimensional character. Some backligth brings out the mossy green and chestnut brown colors as you can see in the picture (the second picture shows the piece with incident light only). Definitely a very nice specimen of impressive size and in great condition.
Whichever attribute you would want to assign to this grand specimen it sure is neither "typical", "ordinary" or even "textbook". Much more this group of amethyst sceptres is an untamed, vibrant beauty of intensive color, 3-dimensional composition and natural charm! An exceptionally rugged piece that holds a staggering amount of beautiful details, all composed to shape this unusual yet very much appealing specimen. Silvery muscovite and white adularia make a great and characteristic association. Despite the size and volume there is hardly any damage to be found here. One repair is present, which is only very hardly visible. Absolutely stunning in person and a real eye-catcher!
What used to be a 5.7 cm thick main crystal accompanied by a smaller side-crystal detatched from the matrix and completely re-crystallized at the bottom to form this unusual and absolutely marvellous piece. The crystal is of light smoky brown color and clear as glass. The surface ranges from medium to perfect mirroring luster and is beautifully structured on all sides. There is no damage to worry about. Some small hematite together with the superb quality mark this fine quartz as a characteristic Cavradi specimen!
The single hematite aggregate on this specimen shows brilliant luster and characteristic sharp development. There are tiny red rutile crystals present too which is well known from this locale. At the lower end of the rock matrix there is a group of quartz and calcite. The whole specimen is in best condition.
A single smoky quartz that's pracitcally flawless with a completely crystallized base and only a minimal Wilbur at the tip. The crystal is clear with intensive smoky color and very good luster on all sides. The termination shows some chlorite but is still lustrous and at least partly transparent. Two smaller side crystals are attached to the crystals backside. This is a dominant smoky quartz specimen of good quality and no downsides!
