Calcite in a vug. Like a careful hand, this broken open rock protects a cluster of honey yellow calcite crystals embedded in smaller colorless calcite tinted red by iron oxide. Shape and aesthetics of this piece are quite unique, the quality of the transparent crystals is good and completely unharmed.
This gwindel is definitely one of a kind! As if being half closed, totally free of internal cracks and on matrix was not enough, this fantastic specimen is a floater, perfectly crystallized even at the bottom and accompanied by small smoky quartz and adularia crystals that show off this beautiful Alpine character. Ther is one incredibly small chip that is practically invisible, everything else is simply perfect. A piece of pure aesthetics and highest mineralogical value!
Schorl usually is nothing other than black tourmaline. Well, this specimen has a terriffic red color and is just incredibly beautiful! Like a 3-dimensional sculpture, covered with snow-white adularia and quartz, the composition we see here is simply unique. The delicate crystals are thin and present the red color even at low light as you can very well see in the video. This piece is even a floater, flawless all around and of the best schorl-quality we have ever seen!
A lovely small cabinet specimen of very distinctive aesthetics and superb crystal quality. The two main crystals protrude from the piece like rabbit ears which gives this specimen its own special charm. The crystals are perfectly water-clear, of very dark brown color and incredible luster. There is one tiny chip to be mentioned but which is not visible from the frontside and acceptable on a marvelous piece like this. The matrix is a beautiful combination of grey rock, white adularia and brown smoky quartz. An outstanding piece of highest quality and well balanced aesthetics!
Great outline and a nicely balanced composition make this an absolutely desirable specimen. An imposing single quartz of brilliant quality sits on a sparkling grey-white matrix with associated white adularia. A great Alpine picture in almost perfect condition. Small abrasions at the crystals termination do not catch the eye easily as there is so much to be admired here. The quartz is mostly transparent with internal cracks at the lower part. The luster is just incredible on all sides including the terminal faces. Highly picturesque and imposing in person!
A very elegant crystal with a glassy body from bottom to top. It shows a symmetric, tapering habit and has a pointed termination that is somewhat rough but not damaged. Around the bottom there are some short side-crystals all of which are in best condition as well. The base is not broken but re-crystallized which makes this an actual floater. Very impressive and in superb condition!
Perfect textbook composition and a striking outline highlight this marvelous quartz specimen. The prismatic main crystal is water-clear, sharp and highly lustrous on all sides. Side crystals are of matching quality and nicely arranged around the main crystal. The largest side crystal has a contacted termination, encrusted with some matrix, that is but completely free of damage. The matrix is crystallized at the bottom. All in all there is no considerable damage, only peripheral contacts and a tiny ding at the main crystal that is not visible from the front. A beautiful example for high class Alpine quartz!
This is completely marvellous in person! It is a floater specimen with absolutely no damage at all!
Both front and backside show lovely structured hematite petals to the hundreds which creates a vivid sparkling effect. Most of the metallic faces show some chloritization but not as much as to prevent the luster from shining! Some white adularia near the bottom adds a nice contrast without taking away from the classy appearance of this piece.
I love it and you will love it too!
A rare closed smoky quartz gwindel on matrix, accompanied by brilliant side-crystals and some contrasting white adularia. The gwindel is absolutely brilliant, flawless and prominently situated in the middle of the smoky quartz cluster. I totally love this fine aesthetics, making for such a lovely Alpine specimen. The side-crystals show some edgewear but nothing of real impact. An overall fantastic piece, lovely in person and extremely rare!
A natural matrix specimen with sharp-edged, sparkling titanite crystals of amber-brown color which is absolutely unusual and rare for the Austrian Alps. The crumbly chlorite matrix is partly dissolved but is otherwise complete all around. The titanite crystals are up to around 1.5 cm long and in great condition. Fantastic luster prominently underlines the splendour of the translucent titanite crystals. A rare and outstanding piece of appealing elegance!
Dark, almost impenetrable color, mirrorinig luster and a sharp pointed termination make this a spectacular smoky quartz of misterious, mesmerizing appearance. The bottom is contacted, not broken, the rest is complete and flawless. Yes, it is only a single crystal, but the quality and the visual impact are just remarkable in person. Unfortunately there is no way of capturing this sheer elegance on a picture but trust me, this smoky quartz is something extraordinary!
This is a total marvel of very best quality from the East Coleman Mine, that in nature reminds me of a flying bird with wings spread widely! It is rather large and showy and looks like it was made out of pure glass! As a complete floater without any noticeable damage there are many ways to present this wonderful shiny quartz, I leave that to your creativity!
Our video shows the impressive visual impact in a 3-dimensional way so go on and have a look!
