The rather large and thick gwindel is accompanied by several smoky quartz side-crystals, all of which display the same high quality and dark brown color as the gwindel itself. The condition is extremely fine. Even the underside, where the piece detached from the rock, is completely crystallized. Some of the crystal faces appear somewhat whitish which adds a feeling like the specimen was frosted. Most crystal faces however are brilliantly lustrous and grant the look inside the transparent smoky quartz interior. A splendid specimen from this famous locale!

An elegant quartz floater specimen from Piz Beverin, featuring a single faden-quartz crystal rising prominently from a flat base composed of countless smaller quartz crystals. The main crystal stands out with excellent transparency, high luster, and completely undamaged terminations. Its slender, elongated form creates a prominent focal point, contrasting beautifully with the dense crystalline structure beneath it. When the piece is turned in hand, it becomes evident that the piece is fully crystallized all around and entirely free of damage — an impressive fact considering the inherent fragility of this delicate formation. As a true floater, the specimen displays complete development on all sides, enhancing its three-dimensional appeal. Aesthetically striking and remarkably elegant, this is a fine alpine quartz specimen of both visual and mineralogical distinction.
