Bright luster and lovely, very detailed development are trademarks of this fine Monte Prosa hematite! The hematite shows brilliant rosettes on front and backside of mirroring metallic quality! The whole thing is without damage and sits on an amorphous white quartz piece, complete and without breaks. While the outline of this heamtite looks sharp from the front, the side-view surprises with rich catchy details!
There is no damage to speak of. One or two hard to identify micro-chips are trivial on a superb specimen of such extravagant beauty and quality! This is a true marvel of an Alpine "iron rose"!
This excellent topaz is from the unique find at Fazenda do Centro. It is completely gemmy and lustrous and shows a sweeping etched shape all around! There is minimal damage present but which is hardly visible at all because of the incredibly rich play of sparkling surfaces on all sides. The beautiful shape, the outstanding quality and overall very good condition make this a brillinat specimen from this spectacular one-time find!
A pack of gemmy intergrown crystals with extremely sharp and well defined terminations and very best luster! Our video nicely shows the brilliant quality of this superb little specimen!
This sparkling little specimen is a real eye-candy! Sharp and lustrous titanite on a matrix of pristine white pericline and smaller titanite side-crystals! The largest crystals are one doubly terminated, gemmy titanite with 1.6 cm in length and a sharply protruding and equally gemmy one that has 1.3 cm. Also the backside of the specimen is largely crystallized and in best condition. Absolutely gorgeous in person!
This fascinating specimen is exceptionally 3-dimensional which you can easily see in our video! Sparkling luster, glassy crystals and a complex architecture make this floater specimen something exceptional in person! The white thread (or “Faden”) is distinctly visible and runs from bottom to top like a spine. The whole specimen is in very good, near flawless condition with only one damaged small crystal on the lower backside but which is hard to see because of the sheer flood of beautiful details and sparkling crystal faces! A marvelous specimen of high quality and best aesthetics!
This is a classic from Weißeck area! A large cluster of intensively blue fluorite, encompassed by white scalenohedral calcite. The specimen is generally a floater, contacted only on the right side. The fluorite is in surprisingly well condition with no damage anywhere in sight!
Its color is unusually intense and visible throughout all the rich multitude of transparent cubes. This kind of blue (known among collectors as "duck-blue" or "entenblau") is extremely hard to find with this specimen arguably being the best ever found!
A rarity of elegance and appeal that adds color to any alpine mineral collection!
The fluorite comes with a historic label of the "Institut für Mineralogie und Petrographie die Universität Salzburg" from the year 1970.
This unusual rhodochrosite specimen features a single crystal that’s 3 cm broad and 1.3 cm thick.
I love the unique aesthetics of this specimen as there is one exceptionally well developed crystal of striking red color and very good clarity at the center of a beautiful matrix. And this matrix is a rarity of itself!
Unlike the more common black oxide matrix this rock-matrix is covered in cream-colored chalcedony with nice blue fluorites which contrasts very well with the single rhodochrosite.
Most spectacular however is of course the rhodochrosite itself which impresses with intensive color, clarity and flawless perfection. The shape is very unusual for it is none of those characteristic scalenohedrons but a more compact hexagonal wheel.
Ex Reinhard Dallinger collection!
Crystal shape and overall composition on specimen of pure and massive pyrite are absolutely unique and stunning! A dramatic main crystal that has 4.1 cm on edge is set on an elongated flat piece of crystallized pyrite.
That main crystal is a perfect octahedron with lustrous and nicely structured faces and all six terminations visible which is totally unusual!
It is surrounded by a number of smaller side-crystals mainly on the backside, while the front is all free and well defined!
The whole piece is in exceptional condition and strikingly beautiful in person!
This specimen strikes with best purple color and a dominant, well defined main crystal! The main amethyst is 11.9 cm long, sharp and lustrous on all sides. The interior is largely clouded but has brilliant gemmy patches with satiated color that really rewards some backlight! The condition is near perfect with only some microscopic abrasions at the backside. The Termination is sharp and flawless! Absolutely marvelous and dramatic in person!
Hessonite from this remote locale are top Alpine classics and extremely hard to get. Brilliant cherry red crystals are crowded on this impressive specimen, beautifully sparkling and sharp! The largest garnets are very close to 1 centimeter in diameter and come as well developed modified rhomb-dodecahedrons. The matrix is one of solid red garnet and has green clinochlore micro-crystals on the backside. The whole specimen is in very good condition with some contacts but no actual damage. A very impressive and remarkably attractive specimen from a unique find!
This huge skeletal quartz is totally unique for its fascinating shape and the marvelous quality! What used to be a large quartz prism is heavily dissolved on both bottom and top while largely keeping the hexagonal shape in the middle section. Through the highly lustrous front face you can see through the whole glassy, slightly smoky crystal body right to the more etched backside which is just beautiful to look at! The condition is near-perfect with only a couple very small chips which is stunning on a heavy piece like this! Shape, quality and sheer size come together on this dramatic specimen!
This is one of the nicest pieces of pure pericline I have ever seen. It is a disctinctly three-dimensional specimen with stacked snow-white crystals and some associated rutile and quartz micro-crystals at the base. The bottom is completely crystallized as well which makes this an actual floater specimen that's in fantastic condition. An outstanding and absolutely gorgeous specimen for this mineral!
