The main crystals on this impressive specimen are a dramatic 5.1 cm pink fluorite and a massive 8 cm aquamarine with strong blue color!
The aquamarine is highly lustrous and transparent. It is nested in muscovite but still able to show its wonderful front face as a window into its gemmy interior!
At the top of the specimen is a single beautiful fluorite. It is glassy and full of pink color with a wonderful complex surface structure.
Even at normal daylight the fluorite presents itself with strong color that contrasts with the blue aquamarine and the silvery muscovite.
Most special however is the fluorite's beautiful surface structure. Every individual part of the modified crystal displays rounded edges with fine striations which is visible down to the smallest structures which makes it no only unlikely but downright impossible that anything about this is artificial. Only nature is able to create such marvelous beauty!
The whole specimen is free of damage and absolutely formidable in person!
The superb rhodonite is from the famous find in 1991, which arguably yielded the best rhodonite specimens of Peru. It has a nice size of 7.3 cm wiht individual crystals up to around 2.5 cm. Characteristic for the locale and this unique find the piece is a cluster of thin bladed rhodonite crystals with good transparency and a nice pinkish red color. The crystals are aesthetically arranged, well terminated and in overall very good condition which is amazing for such a fragile specimen. The backside has some black sphalerite, apart from that this is pure rhodonite.
A lovely little quartz from the Cavradi gorge. It features a central main crystal on a flat quartz cluster. The whole specimen is lustrous and transparent and extremely well crystallized!
This classic anglesite was found around 1960 and comes with a label from geologist and collector Dr. Reinhard Exel who bought the piece in 1971. Individual crystals are up to 2 cm in diameter. The anglesite crystals are colorless, lustrous and well defined and stand in strong contrast to the heavy black galena matrix.
This gorup has a gorgeous aesthetics and shows a very fine contrast between the red garnet and the qaurtz. I have rarely seen specimens of garnet in combination with such a long elongated crystal of quartz.
A beautiful Aragonite from Styria with gorgeous white color and exceptional aesthetics. Very 3-dimensional in person.
What a striking specimen, consisting of numerous crystlas of cavansite, situated on an exciting contrasting, white matrix of stilbite. While cavansite is pretty common over all, this specimen is very different from the crowd. Almost all specimens are flat plates, what looks very boring to me. The matrix of this piece is very 3-dimensional, what looks extraordinary fine in person and makes this specimen so unique. It is rich loaded of royal blue crystals, up to 2.8 cm in size, with bright luster. Both, the cavansite and the stilbite are sparkling in person, what is not visible on the photos and make this a choice specimen. Much better in person!
The termination of this quartz is really awesome and rare! Besides the great termination the crystal shows a beautiful luster and clarity. Just some minor damage is present, but this is hardly visible and very small over all. A piece with this shape is really hard to find and a great rarity from the Alps!
Two parallel grown crystals are in combination with some albite here! The piece is very lovley in person and free of damage!
Aesthetics in three dimensions! Having been in the collection of Helmuth Thalhammer/Austria for many years this piece is now on sale again. Hundreds of lustrous and flawless amethyst crystals with a length of up to around 2 cm are clustered on matrix like grapes and make for a truly appealing specimen. At closer sight you can even find pyrite to even improve the visual impact. Great in any aespect!
This is certainly one of the best of its kind. Extremely rare and very hard to get nowadays.
The thing about this specimen is its marvelous aesthetics! Two quartz crystals of fantastic luster and clarity on a matrix of siderite and shale, covered with a white layer of probably dolomite or calcite, like sugar icing. Wonderful color play in person! The whole piece is in a very good condition, with just one smaller chip at the backside. The Swiss Val Cavrein is well known for quartz of high quality. This specimen definitely contributes to this reputation!
