The singel apple-green augelite crystal on this specimen is exceptionally large, showing a distinctive 2 cm broad termination! It has brilliant luster, nice transparency and a rather intensive color which is unique for the locale at Munodo Nuevo. The augelie is nested between sparkling white quartz.
The overall condition of the specimen is very good. The main crystal is complete and has only small dings.
This highly aesthetic fluorite specimen is from a new find at the Erongo Mountains. It features a very well presented main crystal at the top with a diameter of 2.5 cm. The crystals are all very well shaped, sharp and with a somewhat frosted luster. Especially the larger main crystal shows a beautiful mix of green color at the core with purple towards the surface which is easily visible as the crystals is transparent to the core! The fluorites are set on a feldspar matrix with silvery muscovite coating and a single quartz side-crystal. All of this makes for an exceptionally beautiful piece of best condition and quality!
The two apatite crystals on this matrix specimen show fresh open lavender color which is absolutely lovely on the white feldspar matrix. Both crystals are in perfect condition. Some patches are irregularly grown but not damaged. The crystal size is up to 1.8 cm in length and 1.5 cm in diameter which is certainly large enough to make this a nice small cabinet rock with striking color!
Shiny like a disco ball and perfectly developed on all sides, this is a superb pyrite floater of best quality. While the frontside has the larger crystals - the cubes are up to 1.5 cm on edge - the backside is more delicate, nested and shows beautiful striations. Aside of some very minor edgewear this piece is in excellent condition, very attractive and sculptural in person!
Incredible, juicy, cranberry-red color radiates from this fine specimen even at low light, waiting to explode at direct illumination. The massive crystal is quite dark due to its thickness and some internal cracks but downlight definitely does the trick and reveals the gemmy fire-red crystal!
The spessartine is a complete floater and associated with some quartz, muscovite and white feldspar, probably cleavelandite. It is an exceptional piece that shows the fantastic quality the Navegadora claim is famous for. Even at close inspection I could fine only one small chip at the side, not more than 5 mm long and almost impossible to detect. This is a great, massive spessartine of superb aesthetics that exists only to present its beautiful surface structure and incredible red color!
Two bright green tourmalines are sticking out from a lovely matrix of lilac lepidolite which privides a very nice color contrast! Both crystals are gemmy and lustrous but show differend terminations: while the larger 4.2 cm crystal has a pointed pyramidal termination, the smaller one is flat but with an unusual surface structure. The overall condition is near-perfect. Only one side-crystal on the base is broken but which doesn't much concern as the focus is of course on the protruding main crystals. Very nice in person and with a 3-dimensional character!
Even rarer than the fine purple cactus-quartz from Boekenhoutshoek is the yellow variant which makes for a stunning contrast! These crystals are highly lustrous, sharp and translucent to transparent. The bright color is caused by inclusions of hematite and goethite and is really intensive here! The piece is from a collection in South Africa where it has been for over 20 years. Quality and condition are totally outstanding!
The special thing about this pyrite specimen are the exceptionally well formed crystals. The predominant shape is a hybrid of cube and octahedron, all very well developed, sharp and in very best condition. Characteristic for the locale are some small quartz and sphalerite crystals that you can find attached to the pyrite main crystals. Our video grants a good look on the three-dimensional shape and the bright luster this specimen has to offer!
Several panels of glassy, smoky yellow barite are prominently stacked on a pink dolomite matrix. The largest crystal is around 3.5 cm long, shows best luster and a sharp, distinct shape. All crystals are flawless and 3-dimensionally arranged to form this highly aesthetic specimen!
A strinking combination of transparent long prismatic quartz supporting dark hübnerite crystals with octahedral scheelite crystals atop which again are covered in bright signal yellow stolzite. This combination of scheelite with stolzite is exclusive for the stunning 2014 find at Mundo Nuevo Mine! The whole specimen is exceptionally 3-dimensional and while its looks kind of chaotic in composition it also has an elegant natural feel to it! Very important from a mineralogical point of view and also pretty if you are attracted to pieces where a lot is going on!
The contrast of black huebnerite and white quartz is quite striking here, especially as all crystals show very best sparkling luster! While the backside has some damaged crystals you will hardly find any flaws when looking at the attractive main view. The huebnerite comes as sharp and lustrous prismatic crystals that are mostly black but with some fire-red patches here and there if you add direct backlight. A rich and lovely piece of beautiful aesthetics!
The color of this dioptase is very much intriguing and, as I have to admit, definitely much fresher and brighter than we were able to capture on the picture (green is always difficult to naturally photograph). There is sparkling luster and gemminess all over this compact dioptase surface that shows no damage, only some peripheral contacts. Very attractive in person!
