Size and quality of this single gwindel crystal are stunning in person! It is incredibly well developed with a distinct twist of around 30°. There is some chloritization around the jagged sides but the smooth front and the more complex backside - if one calls it a "backside" which is not obvious at all - are free of chlorite and show good luster. The crystal is all free of internal cracks. Gwindel specimens of such dramatic size are scarce, especially without damage. This crystal is in really excellent condition! Take a loupe and you will find only one tiny chip, 1mm long. This is what I call a high class smoky quartz gwindel specimen!
Bright green color and impressive size make this single crystal titanite an incredibly rare and unusually stunning specimen from the Swiss Alps! The color is in fact a mix of intensive apple green and some reddish brown spots - a color that would be much more typical for the locale. The twin crystal is sharp, flawless and complete even at the bottom rendering it a floater of exceptional quality and uttermost perfection! Have a look on our video and get impressed of the sheer beauty of this Swiss titanite!
This etched topaz floater from the unique find near Fazenda do Centro is a wonderful exemplar of very best quality and aesthetics!
With impressive size and stunning three-dimensional shape it has tremendous showcase presence!
The crystal is perfectly glassy and etched all around with no visible damage anywhere. The pristine colorless clarity, the sweeping shape and vibrant quality are more than enough to make this a real jewel!
Unlike many singe crystal specimens this one is a compact aggregate of several tourmalines. The main crystal is around 1.4 cm thick and surrounded on all sides by smaller ones that show the exact same quality and colors! As you can see in the pictures, the color goes from green at the bottom to pink towards the well cut pyramidal terminations. Luster is great all around the gemmyness is better the further up you look! There is no actual damage anywhere. A small broken crystal at the backside is re-healed.
The crystal quality of this single quartz specimen is way beyond average. Fantastic clarity on a crystal that is not exactly colorless but shows a slightly smoky, somewhat golden tinge. But that is not even the most impressive and important part. What is most unusual here is the mesmerizing surface structure! While the termination strikes with one single face that is plain and lustrous like a window pane, further down there is a lot going on. Embedded in highly lustrous, sparkling, striated prism faces there is an unusual rhombic shape like frosted glass, framed by bevelled edges. Very unique and beautiful in person! The backside has an old contact that is all re-crystallized. The condition is incredibly good, leaving no downsides on this spectacular quartz specimen! It was found by Ludwig Rasser from whom it went to the collection of Ingeborg and Anton Watzl sen.
Unlike many known fluorite specimens from Weißeck this fluorite shows very best luster. It was found at the so called Gipfelkluft (German for peak-cleft) where it was embedded in permanent ice which protected the surface from acidic fluids and mechanic corrosion. The result is nothing short of amazing! A single fluorite cube of intensive purple color is held by a cluster of smaller crystals which gives the impression of a matrix-piece. The main crystal is especially beautiful, showing complex structure and a deep purple color the gets darker and darker towards the center. Just mesmerizing! There is no damage, even the bottom is fully crystallized and perfect! A fantastic piece from this coveted locale!
It's a perfectly well balanced combination of one prominent smoky quartz and a single pink fluorite octahedraon on matrix. Especially the fluorite is a stunning eye-catcher with rather good color and perfect, flawless design! There is not a single scratch on this marvel! The quartz is perfectly clear with a sharp, prismatic habit and a well-cut chisel-tip termination. There is a small ding on the tip but which is hardly noticeable from the front. The two main focus points of this specimen are associated with a number of smaller smoky quartz side-crystals, all of which are undamaged and sparkling on the white matrix! The overall picture is totally stunning and leaves a remarkable impact!
With its stunning hight of 6 cm and strikingly bright orange color this stellarite specimen is definitely an important piece from this locale which has produced a significant number of stellarite in the early 1990s before it got depleted and the mineral almost vanished from the market. This specimen features two intergrown spherical clusters of lustrous, bright orange stellarite of superb translucent quality! The spheres are perched on a small piece of matrix that is covered in stilbite crystals. The aesthetics of this stellarite is absolutely gorgeous and there is no damage to report here!
This is a lovely tourmaline cluster from Paprok that shows amazing brilliance!
Several transparent and lustrous elongated tourmaline crystals are intergrown in a slighly fanning out fashion.
All crystals are well terminated and sharp. Only a side-crystal at the base is broken but further up everything is complete and beautiful.
The dominant color here is green but all the individual terminations are pink which makes for a wonderful picture as there are so many terminations present. A lovely specimen in person!
In 2018 a tourmaline pocket has been opened in the Pyingyi Taung region, somewhere close to the village Let Pan Hla, and the found specimens by far outshine all previous finds of this mineral in the region! The intensive cherry-red color as seen in the pictures is not exaggerated at all and best sparkling luster even emphasizes the pristine quality and aesthetics! The main crystal on this specimen is prominently set amidst smaller side crystals of matching color and quality. The crystal is absolutely amazing not only for its juicy color but mostly for the sharp cut termination, a modified polyhedral pyramid of uttermost luster! Apart from some peripheral contacts this thing is absolutely flawless, highly aesthetic and of uncanny quality!
What immediately catches the eye here are the amazing lustrous faces and modifications this outstanding apatite has to offer! This beautiful surface structure continues all around the crystal which is even a floater. Alpine apatite of such exceptional quality and shape is extremely rare and hard to come by. With its gemmy interior, the nice pastel color and the waxy luster this is a brilliant specimen of very best design!
Adularia is one of the more uncommon species found in the Rauris valley yet some very nice pieces are known. This is an excellent specimen that shows large and pristine crystals on a contrasting dark matrix. The larges adularia is 3.3 cm across, well defined, lustrous, translucent and set at the prominent top of the specimen. Very attractive and of superb quality and condition! Ex Wolfgang Vötter collection.
