This 3-dimensional snowflake of blueish white aragonite is an extremely fragile but highly appealing specimen from Greece. Its practically impossible to have a piece like this that is free of any damage but this very specimen is in surprisingly well condition. A stunning piece of pure elegance as you can very well see in our video!
One remarkable apatite crystal of size is perched on a small piece of matrix, covered with smaller apatite and muscovite. Aside of one contact at the side which is nicely recrystallized there is no flaw on this piece. The beautiful Alpine character combined with good quality provides a special charm to this specimen.
Water-clear, delicately colored and brilliantly lustrous this floater quartz is very impressive for a single crystal. It shows typical Alpine character with no downsides. At the backside you will find some lovely mica as well as some rutile needles. Some edges are a bit rough but not damaged. A great piece for a small price!
The combination of smoky quartz with intensely pink fluorite, sitting directly at its base is just mind blowing. The lovely aesthetics of a flower growing on a mountainside. The quartz is heavily modified and widely overgrown with adularia which gives it a unique and very natural appearance. The bottom is crystallized and without damage as is the rest of this beautiful piece. Remarkable in every way and a highlight for every collection of fine Swiss minerals.
The size of this titanite is absolutely amazing, a great example for this unique find! The piece shows a strong Alpine character, with accessory pericline, chlorite and some iron oxide. To see the titanite itself in its full extent you might want to turn the piece around as the backside is a massive green plate, incredible 7 cm long! The titanite is translucent with internal cracks and inclusions. Not gem quality but definitely impressive for sheer size and the unique character. This is a large example of Alpine titanite from a new 2016 find that is rather exceptional for this quarry and the Alps as a whole!
This crystal shows absolutely best luster, especially at the main view with the large terminal face which grants a look deep into the limpid crystal. It is complete on all sides and the bottom as well, where there are fully re-crystallized contacts, partly covered in some dark green chlorite. The whole piece is in fact flawless and a marvelous example for best quality Felbertal quartz!
Not only exceptionally rare but also a piece of great aesthetics and unusual shape. Colorless to yellowish prehnite crystals have completely overgrown a large adularia specimen on 360°. When turning the piece around you see two color zones, caused by green chlorite showing through the prehnite. The condition is mostly flawless with smaller contacts but no damage. A remarkable piece of Alpine prehnite, unusually shaped and of fine quality!
A three-dimensional aggregate of lustrous, dark hematite is set on a white adularia floater of perfect proportion! The hematite is very well developed, completely flawless and beautiful on all sides. Very unusual in composition and attractive all around!
Only very rarely do you see iron roses of such fine and exuberant structure. A single large rosette with blades up to 3.1 cm in diameter dominantly sits on a small but glassy piece of quartz. Its surface is mostly silky flat but getting more and more bright the more it reaches the rose's center. There is one damaged blade at the very top but fortunately more to the back of the piece. Anyway it is extremely hard to get a fragile piece like this in flawless condition. In fact it is extremely hard to get a piece like this AT ALL! Watch our video for a better view on this spectacular piece!
A true masterpiece of a gwindel! The massive crystal is clear as a window, lustrous on both the front and the backside and is in great condition. An accompanying quartz crystal at the lower front is contacted but not damaged. The termination is to a very low degree chloritized, nothing that would desturb from the fantastic beauty of this specimen. Some edgewear keeps me from calling this piece "perfect" although that would be only a small step. Majestic, classic, outstanding!
The size of this Alpine calcite crystal is totally impressive unique for the locale! The scalenohedral calcite is extremely well developed and is in excellent condition all around. Also the bottom is not broken or trimmed but crystallized with chlorite. The chlorite also adds some greenish tinge to the translucent white crystal without disturbing the elegant character. Very impressive and appealing in person!
Bare, metallic pyrite of such sharp outline is more than rare in the Austrian Alps as most specimens are covered in a layer of limonite.Quality like this has only been discovered in one single find, around 20 years ago. We were lucky to get this piece out of the finders private collection. The crystal on this specimen is 3.7 cm on edge and reflects golden color all around. It prominently sits atop a piece of feldspar matrix, covered in chlorite. Nice textbook aesthetics catches the eye and emphasizes the large pyrite crystal, heart of this exceedingly rare piece!
