Clarity, shape and luster. This brilliant skeletal quartz is absolutely water-clear, free of internal cracks, beautifully etched and completely flawless all around. It stands like a monument, ponderous and strong yet filigree and full of lovely details. The shape of this crystal still resembles the original hexagonal quartz prism but gets more and more skeletal to the tip. The bottom is fully crystallized as well and shows incredulous surface structure. While most known skeletal quartz of comparable quality are from Habach Valley, this very specimen has been found in Felbertal, making it even more valuable to collectors. This is truly one of a kind, majestetic and marvelous!
This epidote specimen is from a recent find in the western Pakistani Mountains that revealed a completely unique and highly aesthetic "bow tie" shape. Sprays of dark green, lustous epidote form this sharp clusters in a just lovely way. This is a singly "bow tie" cluster, distinctively developed and with bright luster! It is completely free of any damage or contacts.
A piece of distinct shape and characteristics!
Brilliantly sparkling tourmaline from a 2018 find in Myanmar that has produced a small number of exceptional tourmalines with highest quality and beauty!! The crystals from this find show incredibly good quality and very attractive deep red color that stands out from the large number of tourmalines worldwide!
This fine specimen is an association of red tourmaline and brilliant short prismatic white quartz crystals. The tourmalines show very well defined polyhedral terminations with vibrant luster. Quality, aesthetics and condition on this piece are absolutely top and strikingly attractive!
Three stocky quartz crystals set on a rich matrix are composing this excellent specimen. A colorful example of high quality quartz in association with adularia, byssolite and limonite. The quartz is sharply developed, water clear and free of any damage! Below the sparkling trinity you can see orange limonite and green byssolite which add the colors for this attractive piece. Some adularia completes the picture to form this gorgeous paragenesis! An Alpine beauty of exceptional grade and remarkable beauty!
This Goboboseb amethyst specimen has a striking presence due to its 15.7 cm of brilliant quality quartz! It has two completely perfect and sharp crystals on a quartz and calcite covered rock matrix. The quality is quite amazing! Both crystals are glassy and highly lustrous. There are some milky zones, especially at the larger crystals, but those are nicely mixed with the purple clouds and completely transparent parts. Very attractive, dominant and of best quality and condition!
This rhodochrosite from the N’Chwaning Mine is a brilliant piece with crystals up to around 1.3 cm. Especially attractive is the striking contrast between crimson red rhodochrosite and the metallic black background of the characteristic manganese matrix! The crystals are gemmy, lustrous and sharp and largely in best condition. Only some peripheral crystals are broken but which is hardly visible and almost unavoidable on rhodochrosite specimens of this habit. I stabilized a visible crack at the matrix’ bottom but it is definitely not repaired! A brilliant piece from this famous locale!
The largest one of these modified cubical fluorite crystals is 7.3 cm in diameter and, like the rest, in outstanding condition! This terrific fluorite was found at the so called "Gipfelkluft" (=summit cleft) which produced some of the best specimens of this whole area! The fluorite is a spectacular mix of green and purple zones as you can easily see with some backlight illumination. And it doesn't need much! A little sunlight or some artificial light (LED, halogen, etc.) is sufficient to have this crystal shine in all kinds of colors from purple to green and blue and everything in between, depending on the light source. We tried to capture that with the camera but the different versions don't really do it justice as the camera is just never as good as the human eye! Always better in nature, trust me on this one! When turning it around you will find that the whole backside is crystallized and with very minimal damage. The front is completely flawless and shows a beautiful array of stacked fluorite cubes. Totally stunning for its striking aesthetics, the sheer size and of course the impressive colorplay!
Unlike most vivianite specimens from Bolivia this one is an extensive landscape of orange-brown, microcrystallized matrix with a large number of dashy green and gemmy vivianite crystals scattered all over! The vivianites are up to around 3 cm long, are lustrous, limpid and very sharply developed! The color contrast is sweeping in person and enhanced through the outstanding luster of the crystals. A fascinating and rich specimen in best condition where a lot is going on!
Unlike most sceptre specimens from this locale this one comes with white matrix on a massive quartz body. It is quite the colorful and rich specimen. The main crystal, a single amethyst of great gemmy quality and nice lightish purple color (characteristic for the locale) is set against the snow-white feldspar matrix. Below you can find green chlorite, orange limonite and some golden needles, probalbly rutile, included in the quartz. Due to strict regulation it is impossible to collect new material in this area which makes these classics even more important. Ex Wolfgang Vötter collection.
As you can see in the pictures both front and backside of this iron-rose specimen are extremely well defined, free standing and show mirroring luster! The hematite is attached to a small, very well proportioned piece of rock matrix with sparkling albite and quartz micro-crystals. Everything is in outstanding condition and shows perfectly beautiful and enchanting aesthetics!
The aesthetics of this miniature specimen is just breathtaking! Two single isolated fluorite crystals of super gemmy quality and very nice green color are set on this specimen: One on the feldspar matrix, the other one on a single quartz crystal. Some additional mica rounds out the view. Very attractive in person and in very best condition all around!
The most striking aspect about this mineral is without question the color. But while many specimens tent towards pale yellow to almost colorless, this very specimen stands out and presents the most vibrant pineapple yellow you could wish for. It is a rich sculpture of pure shiny and translucent brucite with some grey rock matrix that adds contrast and additional beauty. The condition is outstanding with no visible damage anywhere. Very attractive in person!
