This is something really exceptional from the mineralogical point of view: A stunning peridot from Sapat Gali, Pakistan. The quality of this single crystal specimen is absolutely fantastic! Specimens of such quality have almost exclusively been found at this very locale! It is totally gemmy through and through and shows intensive green color and a nice waxy luster. The crystal shape is very well developed and there is no damage present. The bottom is re-healed, not freshly broken. This peridot is a totally exceptional exemplar for this rare mineral that strikes with perfection and quality!
As a complete floater, this specimen is crystallized on all sides and free of any damage. The gwindel at the center is 3.2 cm broad and nicely developed. The surface is somewhat chloritized which adds this nice natural Alpine character. I particularly like the matrix which is in fact a chain of interlocked smoky quartz crystals that carries the gwindel like a floating island would carry a passenger. You can better see the three dimensional composition in our video!
A new find near the city of Hyderabad has recently produced a number of amazing phantom quartz specimens. This one is an aesthetic group in very good condition and with distinctive and beautiful hematite phantoms in each and every one of the glassy quartz crystals! There are minimal abrasions present but the overall condition and crystal quality are just great! Amazingly beautiful in person!
It's a single fluorite octahedron from Planggenstock with a spectacular size of 10.1 cm!!
That means the crystals is over 8 cm on edge and exceptionally well developed!
While the underside is rough and irregular, it is not broken but completely crystallized.
The crystal itself is really marvelous, especially if you give it some backlight, which is when it reveals a satiated homogenous strawberry-red color!
The main body is free of internal cracks, only around the periphery you can see some cracks but actual damage is unbelievably low. One single small damage at the bottom is visible, the rest is perfect!
Have a look on our video for a better impression on this marvelous specimen!
But make no mistake: The video was done in daylight. If you add some warm light the color really starts to glow!
Smoky quartz from Zinggenstock has the reputation for great crystal quality and rich composition. This plate of white rock matrix is fully covered in transparent and lustrous smoky quartz crystals of all different sizes and orientations. One of the largest cystals stands at the top, dominating the outline and overall aesthetics of the specimen. The crystals are all in very best condition with only a few microscopic abrasions but no broken crystals anywhere. An impressive specimen of Alpine smoky quartz!
The special thing about this piece is certainly the nice and clear aesthetics. A single, disc-like, high-gloss and sharply pronounced 2.5 cm hematite plate sits on a group of transparent and shiny quartz. The hematite is covered with comparatively thick and intense red rutile crystals. On closer inspection, one notices that the radially arranged rutile crystals do not only sit "on" the hematite, but are actual building blocks of the hematite/rutile disc and thus catch the light from behind like windows and let it through to the front in bright red. Like the rays of a rising sun.
A just lovely quartz from the Turbhorn that is in amazing condition all around!
The main quartz is all brilliant, limpid, lustrous and sharp.
Its pointed termination is flawless and even the bottom is completely crystallized.
There is one small abrasion on the back but that’s all.
The main crystal is accompanied by several aesthetically arranged side-crystals of utter perfection.
The bottom is crystallized with some calcite and has no damage or even a contact.
Have a look on our video which offers a great look on the spectacular quality!
If you are looking for an aesthetic and sculpturesque tourmaline then you might be interested in this combination from the Shigar valley! It features a rich number of very fine tourmalines with showy books of mica up to 2.2 cm in diameter. The tourmalines are dark but have bright blue terminations which adds a unusually striking color to this attractive specimen! The blue color is not only beautiful but also rare and much desired in tourmaline specimens! What makes this piece special is but not only the color but the sweeping and contrasting arrangement of tourmalines, mica and albite which results in a highly appealing specimen of utter beauty!
What an amazing fluorite! The main crystal is situated on a "first generation" of fluorite with white color what makes a very good contrast to the purple main crystal! Also the back side is crystallized very well mainly consisting of galena! Some edge wear is present on this specimen, though the great color, gemminess and aesthetics are really outstanding and most important to this specimen. This specimen comes with two historic labels! (Ex U.S. National Museum, ex J. Williams collection)
The combination of cuprite and silver is amazing on this specimen! There were just a few specimens with this combination. The cuprite shows a very intense red color on the surface when lighted.
Waht a beautiful hematite from the Swiss Alps. The whole specimen is balanced very well and a floater all around. Every collector who is looking for a hematite from the Alps would love to get a crystal on white adularia. This specimen has all what you can look for and is perfect for the advanced collector therefore.
This is one of the most aesthetic vanadinites I have ever seen. All the crystals are well-situated on the yellow-brownish barite and also very nice isolated, what makes this specimen different to almost all the others. The crystals have a bright red color, good luster and the whole specimen is a floater all around.
