This single crystal tourmaline from Laghman is exceptionally gemmy with a nice pink color. Its shape is a distinctly hexagonal prism with a lustrous surface. At the termination there is some intergrown lepidolite as you can easily see in the video.
A perfectly clear aquamarine with an excellent, modified termination is wearing a coat of white albite, perfectly crystallized and free of damage. Every single crystal face is sparkingly lustrous, no matter where you are looking at. The aquamarine holds some appealing inclusions of schorl that are nicely visible through the water-clear crystal and add a distinct contrast. There are internal cracks visible, but no breaks or repairs. A perfect aquamarine with its own special charm, good cabinet size and unique appearance all around, as you can greatly see in our video! As a small extra, there is a small apatite at the lower left!
There is probably no valid way of determining a front- and backside on this piece which is in fact an incredibly rare event. However one side has slightly larger crystals, so there you are! While the shape of this specimen immediately reminds me of a map of France, its stupendous properties lie somewhere different completely: It is indeed a floater, being perfectly flawless all around. All crystals, lovely stacked together, are tremendously lustrous and show absolutely nice surface structures with manifold striations and modifications all over the piece. A real golden shimmering eye-catcher.
The focus of this specimen is clearly on the main augelite crystal. The casing of sharp and lustrous crystal faces is almost bursting with fabulous, radiant green. The augelite is gemmy and in practically perfect condition with just one minuscule contact. You rarely see crystals of such deep coloring as most of them are much paler with dull surfaces. What we have here is something else entirely, a real jewel. The matrix is of glassy white quartz with some smaller green augelite spread between them. It is a floater and free of damage. I recommend our video for a better view on the 3-dimensional qualities and the sparkling luster.
A strinking combination of transparent long prismatic quartz supporting a cluster of octahedral scheelite crystals, covered in bright signal yellow stolzite. It is a very much 3-dimensional piece and a great example for the famous and utterly unique 2014 find at Mundo Nuevo Mine. Right through the center runs a single hübnerite crystal, also typical for the locale. Highly attractive and rare, this is a unusual combination-piece of great importance!
Now, this is truly a superb piece! An absolutely perfect iron rose, lustrous and particularly detailed, sits on a matrix of brilliant adularia and quartz. The overall aesthetics of this specimen is about exactly what we search for on minerals and love to offer to our customers. Also the backside shows great luster and is without compromise. A real jewel. A sharp little killer.
Congo is by far the worlds best region for primary malachite. This is a lovely combination of dark green malachite and brighter blue-green chrysocolla reminding me of a natural coral reef in the turquoise tropical sea. Beautifull, colorful and in overall good condition!
The rich tungsten-tin deposits at the Yaogangxian mine are source for a huge variety of rare minerals. This specimen of stannite, a rare copper, iron, tin sulfide features interlocked crystals of this silvery golden shimmering material with some minimal calcite association. The piece is crystallized all around with no damage!
This single titanite crystal offers great brilliance and color that varies from mossy green to a nice reddish brown. The crystal is in good condition but there is some edgewear present. Nevertheless, the bottom is contacted and not broken. An appealing single crystal of impressive quality!
The mine near the village of Katlang is famous for its occurance of highly unusual and desired pink topaz. Most crystals found here are loose crystals but of very high quality.
This specimen is an exceptional matrix piece showing one single topaz crystal accompanied by a colorless quartz of similar size. The topaz is 3.5 x 2 cm, highly lustrous and sharp. The color is rather intensive raspberry red, contrasting against the quartz and the calcite/rock matrix. A rare and striking specimen of Katlang-topaz on matrix!
Like a snowball on a slope, this flawless and highly lustrous yellow calcite crystal sits on a rich matrix that supports the dramatic charm of this specimen. The calcite specimens from this region belong to Spains very best, this very specimen being no exception. The single isolated crystal is nicely transparent and of beautiful and characteristic spheral shape with a size of 4.6 cm! Outstanding in every way, this stunningly aeshtetical piece is a perfect, jewel-like eye-catcher.
Hold on to something, that's as good as it gets! The quality of these quartz crystals, aesthetically arranged on that formidable specimen, is absolutely pristine and the best you will ever find. Extremely lustrous and perfectly clear. You could read a newspaper through the 3.4 cm thick main crystal without any trouble. All side crystals are of matching quality and visually support the main crystal. The untamed aesthetics makes for a real eye-catcher and leaves a natural yet somehow supernatural specimen!
