This epidote specimen is from a recent find in the western Pakistani Mountains that revealed a completely unique and highly aesthetic "bow tie" shape. Sprays of dark green, lustous epidote form this sharp clusters in a just lovely way. This is basically a singly "bow tie" cluster, distinctively developed and with bright luster! It is completely free of any damage all around. A piece of distinct shape and characteristics!

A straight white orthoclase carries several beautiful green fluorite crystals as well as some opal of the transparent hyalite (or opal-AN) variety which combines to this absolutely dramatic aesthetics! The single orthoclase is perfectly developed and flawless. On its front face are some glassy green fluorite crystals of polyhedral shape. At its right you will find a crust of transparent hyalite, an upgrade in mineralogical respect. This is a strikingly beautiful paragenesis all around! Ex Fabian Wildfang collection

It's one of those specimens that look like a piece of art! A perfect floater with a unique, kind of rounded shape that's caused by massive modifications of the original cubic crystals. Very special also is the intensive water-blue color that is easily visible throughout the transparent crystal and that is especially strong at daylight! The piece comes from a small find with only four specimens in the third cavern of the summit cleft of Weisseck, the so called Jackpot Pocket. Absolutely stunning in shape and quality and extremely hard to find on the market!

These are rather large and well developed crystals for this rare material and they are really brilliant and sharp! Intensive pink color is distinctively present, though some of the crystals tips tend towards a more smoky color. While around the periphery the piece is contacted the center is all crystallized and in great condition. A superb piece from the unique finds in Coronel Murta!

While Austria is known for its world class epidote it is extremely diffcult to find epidote from Switzerland. And if you ever do they are usually small or ugly or both. This specimen is actually one of the very best ones I have ever seen. Not only is the epidote unusually large and well crystallized but also is the overall aesthetic of the specimen just stunning and exceptional! The epidote is 3.8 cm long, flawless, mostly transparent and with a characteristic mossy green color. It is prominently set on a group of colorless glassy quartz that is equally perfect. The whole specimen is like a sculpture and very 3-dimensional, as you can see in our video!

This is a wild construct of high quality tourmaline with deep cherry red and leaf green colors in glassy crystal bodies! Most of the crystals are doubly terminated, only some are contacted. There are several repairs including small gap fills. However, the unusually imposing shape and overall size of this as well as the superb tourmaline quality more than make up for small imperfections!

NA779 - Gypsum - Sold
NEAT Tunnel, Central St Gotthard Massif, Leventina, Ticino, Switzerland
Size: 14.7 x 9.1 x 4.9 cm

While gypsum is not per se a rare mineral I can honestly say that this is the best and most dramatic specimen I have seen coming from the swiss Alps. We received this piece labeled as "mica" but analysis conclusively revealed it to be gypsum.
The crystal is colorless and transparent with a rather distinct architecture. The backside has some rock and is generally more irregular, displaying the layered character of the material. The whole thing is in great condition. A crack at the front got stabilized but you can see it doesn't run through. A marvelous and totally unique specimen from the very depths of the Swiss mountains!

Perfectly transparent, lustrous and razor sharp. This japan-law twin quartz specimen is an amazing exemplar for this unusual crystal habit! The shape is perfectly developed and really stands out as the one defining attribute on this superb piece. The twin has some smaller quartz crystals around the base but is largely free standing, which surely emphasizes the stunning design! While japan law twins are well known from Lincoln Co., New Mexico, this is an exceptionally fine specimen in flawless condition and of dramatic size!

YU761 - Amethyst - Sold
Mörchnerkar, Zemmgrund, Zillertal, Tyrol, Austria
Size: 12.2 x 5.7 x 3.3 cm

The rocket-like shape of this color-intensive amethyst specimen is totally striking, especially due to it's remarkable 12.2 cm size! The crystal architecture is amazing, a structure of interlocked crystals with attractive etch patterns, the so called "Fenster" (windows).
The backside is a completely different picture. It is rough and has some feldspar, mica and even small iron roses grown on it. But despite this rough look the backside is all crystallized as well. The beautiful main view shows strong purple color, elegant structures and a nice frosted surface!

Two exceptionally sharp single isolated garnets are set on a nice grey piece of rock matrix associated with some quartz micro-crystals. The larger crystal has 1.4 cm in diameter which is above average for the locale. Both crystals are extremely sharp, perfect, highly lustrous and show nice gemmy patches that glow dark red at direct illumination. A wonderful and beautiful specimen altogether!

A rich cluster of sharp tabular hematite is prominently perched on a small piece of rock matrix of just the right proportion! Distributed about the lustrous hematite are small but gemmy red rutiles as is characteristic for the localte. Some white feldspar enhances the contrast and perfects the stunning aesthetics. One single issue on a smaller front crystal is present but hardly a matter on this otherwise flawless and stunningly beautiful specimen!
