A gorgeous little quartz specimen of best quality with a distinct "Faden" at the center. The piece is 360° complete and has only very minimal edgewear. The quartz is clear and sharp at the terminations left and right with the characteristic milky white zone that runs from bottom to top. A near-perfect specimen with bright luster on all sides!
This is a limpid, triangularly shaped, tabular calcite crystal with a second generation of calcite 3-dimensionally grown over the upper edge. The sides show some cleavage surfaces but which is hardly discernible. A very unusual and fine piece from Felbertal!
Szenicsite is an extremely rare mineral that is unique for one single find in 1993 by Terry and Marissa Szenics that soon became well desired. This specimen shows a bright green, scintillating aggregate of crystallized szenicsite on a grey and brown matrix of powellite pseudomorph after molybdenite. At the bottom left corner you will find some greenish crust of glistening primary powellite, a characteristic association for this one time find. This piece has nice aesthetics of green on brown and is in overall good condition!
First of all: go ahead and watch the video for it much better shows the brilliance of this faden quartz specimen! The overall shape is like a topaz with an antenna atop though of course its just one of those unusual habits quartz is able to develop. The crystal is transparent wherefore the faden (German for "thread") is well visible. Without any damage, this piece is a fine little stunner!
For understanding this quartz sculpture you definitely have to watch our video. It is a 360° perfect floater composed of countless little crystals clustered and stacked upon each other to shape this unusual piece. The quartz is water-clear though the many faces make this specimen obscure. Unusual and pretty, from the famous Cavradi gorge!
This is a smoky quartz of great aesthetics and fine quality. The main crystal is doubly terminated and virtually flawless. The brilliant luster and deep brown color in combination with the striking composition are absolutely impressive. A rare beauty that does not need much introduction.
Cavradi is known to have yielded some very fine Alpine adularia. This is an excellent exemplar for the material with a main crystal that is around 4.5 cm across and of superb quality! The well defined adularia is gemmy and lustrous and in best condition. It is set on a rock matrix with sparkling microcrystals of adularia, quartz and hematite as well as a 2.5 cm adularia side-crystal.
This dramatic titanite is out of a spectacular new find from this spring (2016). The sheer size of solid titanite is just mindblowing. The crystal has internal cracks and inclusions but is otherwise transparent and of dark mossy green color. The frontside is lustrous and completely free of chlorite which is unusual for pieces from this locale. The backside is covered in a mix of iron oxide, chlorite and albite. This specimen is a complete floater that is, with the exception of one single chip at the bottom, free of damage or even abrasions. An exceptional piece for this quarry and the Alps as a whole.
With the shape of a mountain and the elegance of pure colorless ice this skeletal quartz is one of a kind of this rare material! The dissolving process on this specimen is very extensive and makes it next to impossible to guess the original crystals shape. Water-clear interior, covered by a breathtakingly rich and beautiful surface. With no noteworthy damage or abrasions this is a dramatic piece for any Alpine or quartz collection!
This completely etched aquamarine strikes with sweeping shape and very nice quality! The crystal is gemmy and shows very nice blue color. It's distinct three-dimensional shape is that of a flaring fire with the color of blue ice. Very attractive in person and in great condition!
A charming adularia specimen all around with great Alpine character due to a fine layer of green chlorite. Between those green patches you find brightly white adularia of great luster und translucent crystal body. The piece is beautiful on all sides with no visible damage anywhere. The bottom shows some matrix that is also covered in chlorite and some tiny mica. A lovely piece of high quality and just the right amount of characteristic Alpine chlorite.
A fine specimen from Barra do Salinas, famous for its high class tourmaline. The composition of this one is quite spectacular. A main tourmaline crystal of gemmy green color dominates this vivid piece, visually supported by white feldspar and purple lepidolite. The arrangement is pure textbook, with a shiny, dramatic main crystal, well emphasized and balanced. There is no damage or noteworthy wear to be found, only some contacts at the lower backside. Great aesthetics and quality united on a highly appealing piece!
