Most special about this piece is the incredible strong blue color! Lavrion is one of the great classic European locales for aragonite and has produced a many great pieces. Still, pieces of such intensive blue are a rare thing and even if this piece is not perfect - a broken periphery plus some smaller damage at the thin aragonite stalactites - it is surely worth a look. Especially the backlight reveals fantastic deep blue color as I have hardly seen it on aragonite!
A very 3-dimensional landscape that holds a broad variety of beautiful details. The base is composed of sparkling quartz and yellow calcite discs. In the center of this arrangement are tall, towering "faden"-quartz sculptures of best luster, clarity and with a very distinct grey and white thread (or "faden") running from bottom to top. The whole piece shows no damage that would distract from the unusual aesthetics of this remarkable and rare piece from the uncommon locale Scharans in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
Since the late 1980s, canvansite - calcium vanadium silicate - has abundantly come from the Wagholi quarry complex in India. Discovered only around fifteen years earlier in Oregon, it soon became a major object of desire in the following decade and beyond.
This classic specimen has been in the collection of the Prof. Reinhard Dallinger for many years and is a manifestation of abundancy! The white heulandite covered matrix holds a rich cluster of deep blue cavansite "balls", ball-like assemblies of cavansite micro-crystals. Along these cluster the heulandite shows nice yellowish coloring that adds more character to this already fine and highly attractive specimen. An outstanding piece for this beautiful classic mineral!
This is an enormous adularia crystal that is in excellent condition despite its size and weight. Sure, one or two smaller abrasions are present and there is one damage at the backside but nothing that would impair the overall stunning effect of this great specimen! The crystal is all translucent white with good to great luster on its many faces. Definitely a smashing rock!
A doubly terminated smoky quartz crystal vertically stands on a matrix that is playfully covered in white feldspar and smoky quartz side-crystals. One lovely detail which very much highlights this whole specimen is the purple, hexagonal apatite crystal at the frontside of the matrix. It's this little color accent that's totally adorable! The apatite is glassy and lustrous and definitely draws attention despite its small size. The whole piece is in remarkably fine condition which is a small wonder on a fragile piece like this. Absolutely stunning in person!
Let's get to the drawback right away: This amethyst specimen is damaged at the tip and one of the side-terminations. Now that that's said, this piece is absolutely fantastic from one of the very best Alpine amethyst finds of all time! Hardly ever have I seen such incredibly strong color on a large and massive Alpine amethyst specimen like this, paired with wet-look luster and beautiful stacked crystallization. Most sections at the back are crudely crystallized but damage is scarce and anyway, the main view is just stunning and a real eye-catcher! Rare and outstanding Alpine amethyst of great size and exceptional quality!
Several quartz crystals of varied size with beautiful inclusions on a contrasting white feldspar matrix form a very natural and attractive specimen. Micro-crystals of ankerite, hematite and rutile add even more color and live to this impressive specimen. The whole piece is free of damage the matrix is all naturally broken. 3-dimensionally appealing in person!
Dramatic in size and shape, this is a very dominant epidote crystal with a 4.7 cm broad lustrous front face! The termination is chisel-shaped and all flawless, though a little dissolved. Further down there are broken crystals but which are very old and completely re-healed, as is the bottom of this spectacular piece. Due to the thickness of the crystal it's very hard to get any color and only in strong and direct backlight the emerald green is revealed at the edges. This is an old classic in best condition and of amazing size and appearance!
This epidote specimen is from a recent find in the western Pakistani Mountains that revealed a completely unique and highly aesthetic "bow tie" shape. Sprays of dark green, lustous epidote form this sharp clusters in a just lovely way.
This specimen has a very special and catchy shape of two epidote clusters parallelly emerging from a larger horizontal "bow tie". There is no damage of any kind leaving this a complete and all brilliant floater specimen of unique character!
This single shard of glassy quartz is shaped like some kind of chisel or scraper. It is practically a floater with only one small contact. There is no damage here. The unusual flat shape of this crystal is a rare find, especially in such high quality! The crystal is water-clear and brilliantly lustrous. One side shows tiny crater-like imprints as well as microscopic muscovite inclusions. The other side is completely pristine and clear. A remarkably beautiful specimen of unusual design!
The architecture of this high quality topaz is absolutely mesmerizing! The super lustrous prism develops into a sparkling miracle of countless faces, bevels and sharp edges. Through these many windows you can see the gemmy champagne colored crystal body that shows best see-through quality from bottom to top! This outstanding crystal is set on a abeautiful quartz matrix/feldspar matrix that is in best condition all around and perfectly supports the main attraction. A spectacular miniature specimen of best quality and amazing design!
This piece was found in the Goboboseb Mountains which are world famous for the high quality amethyst crystals found in this area! The amethyst shows the most intensive purple color that is absolutely mesmerizing when it catches some light! This color is acutally quite characteristic as it shows different zones, some even colorless, some of very deep color. Different purple phantoms are stacked among each other to create this inner life that is absolutely amazing if you take the time for a closer look! The sharp-cut crystal is virtually flawless – only at the backside you can find some edge-wear - and of gemmy quality through and through! A second, doubly-terminated crystal is attached to the side which adds much to the aesthetics! The amethyst is in fact a sceptre, which is quite characteristic for the locale. Top-notch quality and well defined beauty make this specimen outstanding!
