A marvelous sculpturesque skeletal quartz, 360° etched and beautiful. The quartz is completely water-clear with thousands of sparkling faces and great structure. Finding any flaws here takes long and intensive search and results only in tiny chips at one or two spots. Almost invisible and definitely irrelevant on a striking piece like this. It's exceedingly hard to find these beautiful floater pieces from Felbertal so I am glad to present this bright and stunning specimen!
Elba Island is one of the great classical localities of Europe and has produce a great many different minerals over the centuries. While, as type locality of elbaite, Elba is primarily known for fine tourmaline specimens, many other great mineral specimens have been unearthed here. This pristine hematite, embedded in a nest of fine white quartz, is a shiny example for a recent find producing such high quality classics. The main crystal is like a dark, shiny pearl, aesthetically centered between white quartz needles and a massy black hematite slab. The metallic luster has a red tinge to it, revealed at closer inspection under direct downlight. This is a great hematite specimen that is in overall well condition. Yes, there is a dinge at the main crystal (not as dramatic as it might look at first glance) that drops the price here but if you can live with that, you will be delighted by the excellent aesthetics of this wonderful piece!
A cluster of several quartz crystals, chaotically arranged but of nice quality and widely free of damage. Even the backside is fully crystallized, as are all contacted or broken faces. The terminations of some of the crystals seem a little rough but at closer view there is no fresh damage to be detected. The matrix at the background is a nice agglomeration of calcite and quartz. As a small gift you will find a red rutile, around 3 mm in size. This is a fine piece of very good crystal quality and an appealing 3-dimensional look!
Purely breathtaking, this attractive purple fluorite has everything a masterpiece of this caliber needs! Great color, clarity, luster and a composition that is nothing short of perfect! The piece does not need much illumination, the color and light appear just like out of nowhere. Anyway, if illuminated from the back it becomes a sparkling ball of purple fire, dotted with golden spots of pyrite. The piece is a floater and - except for two tiny wears, that are discernible only at very close view - in superb condition. A true miracle of nature and definitely one of the very best pieces we have ever seen coming to the market.
Pure elegance, combining marvelous colors with beautiful shape and bright luster is the stunning nature of this tourmaline specimen. The termination is nicely modified and offers a great view with mirroring faces and fine structure. The tourmalines color changes from pink to turquoise at the center and back to pink at the termination. It is free of damage with a rehealed bottom. A wonderful and classy piece of remarkable character.
I have seen a few of fine augelite specimen lately, but not one who had as many high quality augelite crystals on it as this one. The quartz-matrix with hundreds of glassy and flawless crystals is literally crowded with sharp, gemmy augelite crystals of fresh and juicy green coloring. The distribution of those crystals vaguely reminds me of a christmas tree, with green branches drawn on a general delta-shape. There's not much to say about the condition, as this floater-piece that shows no damage at all. A real stunner of 3-dimensional character and exceptional sparkling luster!
Three verdelites are parallel and stepped grown here! The crystals have a beautiful green color, very fine luster and are highly glassy! The termination is well pointed and at the lower area of the cluster is grown into some lepidolite. The smallest crystal is repaired once, what is fully acceptable on a piece like this. Free of damage and a perfect fit for the advanced collector!
A prominent outline, stark contrast between smoky quartz and adularia and a staggering crystal quality are united at this fabulous piece. Especially the main quartz, protruding at the very center, shows beautiful surface structure and a intensive red-brown core, a color you rarely find at smoky quartz specimens. Great composition and outline make for an attractive specimen that sparkles with brilliant surfaces. Some smaller damage is evident but the overall condition is fine with no major breaks. A small chip to the main crystal is not visible from the front. The bottom of this fine piece is nicely crystallized with adularia and grass-green epidote, characteristic for Val Giuv.
This fluorite is pretty untypical for the location and actually I was surprised when I saw it the first time. Though, I had no other idea on my own! I got this in trade from Martin Gruell, a well-known and educated collector of fluorites in Austria, who has confirmd the location. It has great aesthetics and shows very intense purple color under lights! Except a small contact, it is pristine all around!
This is an impressive rutile with a very good size and form, situated very well on a matrix of quartz. It comes from the famous Rauris Valley and is untypical big in comparison to others I have seen in the past. Some small chlorite is attached at the side, giving the specimen well known alpine character. A perfect fit for every alpine collection!
A nicely balanced combination of pyrite and galena that stands out in a very beautiful and aesthetic way. Holding it in hands it immediately emanates a worthy feeling of high quality and appealing looks. While the golden pyrite is straight and harmonic, the galena is excessively modified and magnificently fascinating. Smaller white calcite crystals are adding nice accents. This specimen has no visible damage at all. An incredibly nice choice!
A 3-dimensional snowflake of light water-blue aragonite, all marvelous and striking. At some patches you find a second generation of fragile white aragonite grown on the slender, long prismatic main crystals. Aside one small contact at the bottom this speicmen is fully crystallized in virtually perfect condition. Very attractive and exceptionally well shaped with unusually sharp and robust crystals for the locale.
