Five elongated quartz crystals are fanning out like shiny white fingers. Especially the largest crystal is heavily supported by black sphalerite which provides the perfect contrast and spectacular aesthetics! The single quartz fingers are at closer inspection clusters of hundreds of small crystals which makes for a fantastically lovely surface. A sparkling, 3-dimensional sculpture that is perfect on all sides and rich in so many beautiful details!
This is a classic piece for Naica, with the characteristic modified, beveled cubical crystals on a contrasting black sphalerite matrix and some chalcopyrite at the backside. The crystals are nicely stacked upon each other with increasing diameter to the top. The color is pale inside the transparent crystals, yet shows a surprising change from a green tinge - visible closer to the matrix - to a light purple. Condition is well with only some very minor issues, nothing to worry about. A cluster of amazing aesthetics and high quality!
A large cluster of brilliant scalenohedral calcite that is crystallized on all sides. Only the bottom is contacted, the rest is all complete and in near perfect condition. Several doubly terminated crystals, the largest of which is 12.5 cm long(!), are sitting atop a more massive but evenly sparkling calcite body. The mostly transparent crystals are milky white at the inside but intensively orange-brown "cognac" colored at the completely gemmy edges. An imposing, characteristic specimen for the famous Elmwood Mine, one of the worlds best localities for high class calcite!
With an imposing length of over 10 cm this is an absolutely stunning piece. Not repaired and in flawless condition, there are no downsides on this specimen. Despite being a single crystal, this tourmaline offers much in respect of detail and variety. As you can see in the video, the sides are comprised of many shorter parallel crystals. The termination consists of three main peaks. The whole specimen is a composition of gemminess, pretty color and dramatic shape, covered in brightly sparkling luster.
The thick, blocky stibnite crystals on this specimen are quite characteristic for the Cisma Mine. Still, this classic old European piece has exceptionally fine aesthetics. The metallic black stibnite is gracefully arranged on a contrasting white barite matrix of perfect proportion. While the backside is somewhat contacted, the front is completely unharmed and nicely crystallized all over. Very 3-dimensional and statuesque!
This is quartz at its very best!
An impressive single crystal that is clear as glass with a perfect wet-look luster. It is almost colorless but shows a nice yellowish tinge throughout the whole crystal body. The sharp pointed termination is a bit rough at the tip but which apparently is not due to damage. Also the bottom, where it detached from the rock, is not freshly broken but fully re-healed.
As you can well see in our video, this is an elegant and truly fascinating specimen of Alpine quartz!
Found in spring 2014 this specimen is a fine example for its unique kind. The striking turquoise Paraiba-color is caused by copper and catches the eye instantly. Analysis identified this mineral as the extremely rare tridymite crystobalite opal. The opal is grown over colorless quartz as you can well see on the broken backside. The front also shows some damage but best color and the sheer rareness of this mineral more than make up for this little deficiency. Absolutely outstanding!
A relatively large and sharp tetrahedrite cluster sits in the middle of a nice spray of white quartz crystal. The coronal shape reminds me of some cristmas decoration that beautifully centers on the main attraction, the metallic tetrahedrite. The crystals are largely intact, only small abrasions are to be found at closer inspection. The surface has a thin grey coating that covers the otherwise mirroring tetrahedrite. A rare specimen of very catchy, 3-dimensional composition!
This epidote specimen is from a recent find in the western Pakistani Mountains that revealed a completely unique and highly aesthetic "bow tie" shape. Sprays of dark green, lustous epidote form this sharp clusters in a just lovely way.
This is basically a very strong and thick singly "bow tie" cluster, distinctively developed and with a bright luster! It is free of any damage, only a at the bottom you will find some contacted remainder of a second crystal which is not at all visible from the front. Very much striking and characteristic for this new find!
Milpillas, one of the worlds finest sources for high class azurite specimens! This is a rather large single crystal, sharp like an arrow head, lustrous and blue. Accompanied by a smaller side-crystal it sits on a white contrasting matrix. Shape, size and quality of this crystal are nothing short of dramatic, with only minor abrasions but no damage in sight. A wonderful piece of great outline thats highly appealing in person!
Hübnerite from Peru are without question the worlds best! This stunningly beautiful specimen is agreat example for the fantastic quality the Muno Nuevo Mine produced in the recent past. Large metallic black crystals with up to 1.8 cm broad wedge shaped terminations are distributed across a rich bed of sparkling white prismatic quartz. The contrast could not be better and perfectly emphasized the single hübnerite crystals. The condition is near-perfect, some broken hübnerite are completely re-healed. An overall impressive and just marvelous specimen of world-class hübnerite on quartz!
The characteristic "snowflake" pattern is well visible on this compact cerussite cluster. The piece is pure cerussite with no considerable matrix or association. The crystal itself seems clear at the inside but the surface is intensively structured and to the most parts obstructs the insight. Anyway, this is a nice example for Tsumeb cerussite without any damage to speak of.
