Sold Minerals

SB03 - Titanite - Sold
Lukmanierschlucht, Disentis, Graubünden, Switzerland
Size: 3.2 x 2.1 x 1 cm

This titanite comes from an old find made in the Swiss Alps! Most of the titanites in the Alps comes from Austria and it is almost impossible to get a good "sphene" from other countries in the Alps! This is a very good sample and a good chance for every locality collector to get a sphene from Switzerland. It is very pristine except some extremely tiny edge wear that is just visible with a good loupe!

GS03 - Quartz Gwindel - Sold
Bassin d`Argentiere, Mont-Blanc massif, Haute-Savoie, France
Size: 2.7 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm

That's a half-open and half-closed gwindel! It is extremely rare to find this combination at a gwindel. This is a very lovely specimen from a small lot of five gwindels that I have got at the mineral show in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines this year. Some very tiny edge wear is present but this is almost not visible from the front side and not important at all. The pictures show all what you need to know to see how nice this specimen is.

A very clear and sharp crystal of quartz shooting out of a very nice matrix from Val Strem. The crystal is completely translucent without any cracks and is completely flawless all around. Better in person.

The composition of this specimen is exceptional. The crystals have a very nice purple color and it is very 3-dimensional in person.

"WOW, this is highly sparkling", was my thought when I saw this specimen the first time. It is very special in person, consisting of big calcites, overgrown by a brownish layer of rock, which is coverd with two generations of very brilliant quartz. Way better in person!!!

This is a very glassy rubellite from a find made in 2010 at the cruzeiro mine. While most of the specimens were heavily damaged and therefore just interesting for the gem market, this specimen is free of damage and well terminated. Much better in person!

BL28 - Quartz - Sold

It’s incredible, how much detail and beauty can lie in one single quartz specimen from the Austrian Alps. This elongated specimen is composed of one dagger-shaped quartz tile of fantastic luster and a second generation of small quartz crystals, sitting at the front face. The specimen is a perfect floater and in brilliant condition. If you like extraordinary shapes, you will love this quartz!

Sparkling snow-white quartz on grey and white rock is forming the base of this brilliant piece. Atop of this beautiful matrix perfect brookite crystals are nested. The brookite is sparkingly lustrous, clear and of intense brown and red color. This piece is just marvelous in person. The bottom is cut, but this does not distract from its beauty. All main crystals are perfect without any flaws!

SK19 - Smoky Quartz - Sold

The "rabbit-ears-quartz", as we call it, is a piece of extraordinary aesthetics. Two equally beautiful crystals of great luster and clarity poke out of a perfectly sized piece of grey matrix. The bottom of the crystals show pyramidal faces and are partially covered in chlorite. At close sight you find very small wear at the tip, which is not apparent, when standing on the shelf. A remarkable piece of dominant size and character!
