The single most interesting crystal on this paragenesis is set at the very top: A brilliant golden colored 1.3 cm titanite twin crystal of gemmy quality and in fantastic condition! It is emphasized by the beautiful matrix, covered in white pericline and grey calcite with some smaller titanites in between. A look on our video reveals the superb quality much better!

It is a large natural landscape-type of specimen that strikes with very strong contrast and a lovely composition. Yellow shining quartz is perched on a matrix that is covered in brown siderite, creme colore pericline and some snow white quartz microcrystals. The largest quartz that stands out on the top is 5 cm long, glassy, sharp and undamaged. All over the condition is very good although not quite perfect. Some broken smaller crystals are visible though not quite significant on a large and natural piece like this.

Color, shape and the radiating quality immediately draws one towards this piece like the calming flickering flames of a bonfire! This rhodo has the intensive fire red color that you would desire in a specimen of this beautiful mineral. The individual crystals reach a length of up to 3 cm, they are glassy and in very good condition with only minimal cleavages and contacts. It’s a compact piece of gorgeous aesthetics and fantastic crystal quality!

The way this quartz has developed is amazing and totally unique. As you can see in our video this is only a thin shard, fully transparent and highly lustrous on both sides. One side is shaped like a flat bowl, showing an inward curve constructed from countless shiny crystal faces. The other side is different, it has two flat faces that are arranged at a distinctive 40° angle. But regardless of the apparently complex history of this specimen (did it originally split off a larger crystal?) this is an unusuall and very attractive specimen in near flawless condition and of best quality!

GY405 - Quartz Phantom - Sold

A new find near the city of Hyderabad has recently produced a number of amazing phantom quartz specimens. This one is a dominant main crystal accompanied by several small side-crystals. The quartz is transparent and lustrous and shows a beautiful and distinctive purple hematite phantom inside. What is interesting is that the hematite reaches the surface at some parts on the backside which makes for a nice and very natural look. Condition is overall good. There is a broken side-crystal on the back and some contacts around the base but nothing distracting from the overall beauty of this fine quartz.

This floater of pure metallic hematite is really just lovely! Coutless hematite plates are stacked upon each other, all are very well developed and in best condition! Some fire-red rutiles give evidence of the locale where it was found. It is a brilliant little specimen of superb quality

MQ954 - Cerussite - Sold
Montevecchio Mines, Guspini, Sardinia, Italy
Size: 12.3 x 7.5 x 4.6 cm

This is a rare, at least 50 years old cerussite from Sardinia that is still in excellent condition! It has a total size of 12.3 cm with individual sprays of cream colored cerussite up to 3.7 cm. The stark contrast of pale cerussite on the dark, almost black matrix nicely emphasizes the cerusste. Also the backside is completely natural and vividly crystallized. As the included old label states, the matrix is presumably psilomelane, a compound of different manganese oxides. A splendid specimen for the collector of historic rarities.

AT05 - Quartz Gwindel - Sold
Val Giuv, Tujetsch, Vorderrhein Valley, Graubünden, Switzerland
Size: 6.2 x 4.6 x 3.5 cm

WOW, what a stunning group of two gwindels and one regular smoky quartz forming this great specimen. I have never seen such a combination in the past. This specimen comes from the recent find made this summer in Val Giuv and it is one of the best specimens from this pocket. The bottom side of this group is completely rehealed, while many of the other specimens are heavily damaged at the base. The crystals are translucent and show the typical bright smoky color which is well known for this locale. It is very lustrous with sharp edges and it is very 3-dimensional in person. The amazing aesthetics of this specimen in combination with the beautiful quality makes this group really extraordinary. A gorup like this is much more rare then a sinlge gwindel, what makes it to a big challenge to get one like this. Comes mounted on a custom base for display.

This is an awesome calcite, with the very best quality. It shows colors like a rainbow inside, is very gemmy and has a beautiful luster. It is perfect all around and the termination is full of small and delicate stripes. It is grown on matrix, while most of it is not visible from the front. This piece is very special in person and one of the very best specimens which I have seen from that locale!
