Ilfeld, Nordhausen, Harz Mts, Thuringia, Germany
Size: 7.2 x 4.1 x 4.9 cm
Watch Video

The classic manganite from Ilfeld in Germany are considered to be the best of this species which becomes obvious when you look at this very specimen! The black and white contrast is absolutely top on this well balanced piece. A snow-white barite cluster at the right more and more gives way to metallic black manganite the more left you look. From this complex black and white cluster one single manganite crystal emerges. It is around 1.8 cm long, 1.4 cm thick and of uttermost perfection!
The whole piece is in best condition with a cut bottom, which was usual at the time this piece was found, some hundred years ago. A European classic of great aesthetics as our video very well shows!

A sparkling cluster of nested tetrahedral pyrite of exceptional quality! The huanzala mine is certainly among the worlds best localities for pyrite and this very piece speaks loudly for this credit! The whole surface is covered in crystals up to over 2 cm on edge that show a nice golden luster and no damage to speak of.
The composition is quite 3-dimensional and a nice play of smaller and larger crystals stacked together. The underside of the specimen is partly crystallized with some tiny quartz in between. An impressive specimen of high class pyrite from Perus most famous mine!

This is a very fine Pakistani fluorite of outstanding quality and aesthetics!
The piece features a stunning etched fluorite that is 6.7 cm (!) across and totally clear! Sure, you cannot see directly through the crystal due to the etched surface but even low illumination expands through the crystal and lets it shine as if it had its own magic inner light! The fluorite shows best pink color and sits on a matrix of silvery muscovite with sheets measuring up to 1.6 cm across. There is only one tiny issue at the lower right side but which is ridiculously insignificant on a stunning and exceptional piece like this!

Beautifully rounded crystals are forming a 3-dimensional sculpture of bright golden color. This unusual crystal shape is a transition of pyritohedron and octahedron which is quite rare even for Huanzala standard. The surface is mirror-bright and golden on all sides with nice striations. The whole piece is in excellent condition with only minor, insignificant issues. A perfectly aesthetic pyrite of highest quality!

FJ7 - Fluorite - 1600€
Camissinone Mine, Zogno, Brembana Valley, Bergamo Province, Lombardy, Italy
Size: 12.1 x 9.7 x 8.3 cm

The famed purple color of Zogno fluorite is absolutely mesmerizing at this unusually well shaped piece. Most pieces are so heavily etched - which is not per se a bad thing - that the original habit is unrecognisable. Here on the other hand the cubical shape is obvious with amazing 9.3 cm on edge. Bottom and backside are more heavily etched and gradually the shape turns into a more typicall Zogno fluorite. Best color is at the bottom of the crystal so a low backlight illumination would bring out this flash of purple color in the most favorable way!

Hematita is better known for its alexandrite appearance, but in recent years some very fine topaz finds have been done. This specimen has the straight and sharp frame of a cut gem, with a limpid body that has only very few internal cracks. The surface is highly lustrous and shows a lovely structure. With some contacts and minimal edge-wear this piece is not perfect but in very good condition still and of high quality and aesthetics!

Thick and glassy, sparkling and dominant, this impressive quartz specimen from Felbertal is absolutely amazing! The main crystal, over 18 cm long and 7.4 cm in diameter, is of best quality with a completely glassy upper half, sharp edges and great weet-look luster. The backside is contacted - though perfectly re-crystallized - and in some parts covered in beautiful dark green chlorite as is characteristic for the locale. The whole piece is in excellent condition with only some insignificant edgewear. A marvelous quartz specimen, large and impressive!

An excellent sculpture-like specimen of especially 3-dimensional character, great quality and highly appealing composition. The hübnerite is massy but yet lovely structured with many smaller crystals protruding from a thick hübnerite trunk. The fine detail and the gemmy red color are adding up to a sparkling piece of pure aesthetics. Apart from some contacted zones there is no damage visible. At the base of this specimen you see a single larger quartz of good luster and milky interior. Inside that quartz thin hübnerite needles of gemmy red quality are nicely visible. All around you find accompanying glassy quartz that largely covers the lower two thirds of this piece. Dark red hübnerite majestically ascends from this lovely white foundation and offers a truly spectacular view!
