Beautiful purple color and very best aesthetics are combined on this spectacular piece of best Elmwood fluorite! Several intergrown cubical fluorite crystals sit on a small piece of matrix, sparkling with quartz and dolomite. The fluorite strikes with particularly good clearity and stunning purple color, especially strong along the edges. The backside is contacted but fully re-crystallized and shows no damage at all! A wonderful specimen from one of the worlds leading sources for high class fluorite!

Very old and extremely rare, this is a just lovely combination of mossy green epidote jewelled with colorless apatite which again shows green byssolite inclustions. This is for sure one of the sweetest specimen of this kind to be found in the famous Knappenwand region, more than a hundred years ago! The piece is perfect all around with only contacts at the sides but no damage. Extremely aesthetic, fantastically rare and of high quality, this piece is a real marvel!

This rather large specimen features fluorites up to 4.3 cm on edge with a lovely lavender color and great transparency! There are some contacts and even some obvious breaks, no way of denying that. However, the dramatic size and nice quality of the crystals definitely makes up for some of those downsides.

RT9 - Quartz - Sold
Rauris, Pinzgau, Salzburg, Austria
Size: 20 x 6.7 x 6 cm

A dominant 20 cm quartz crystal of straight upright shape! The termination as well as the backside have some chlorite but the front faces are clear and grant a view through the glassy crystal. Attached to the side there is a flattened crystal which look rather odd and adds a unique touch to this otherwise classic specimen. The whole thing is in marvelous condition and even the bottom is completely crystallized!

WA8 - Pericline - Sold

Large bloks of pericline are 3-dimensionally arranged to form this impressive specimen. The single crystals are up to around 4 cm long and 1.3 cm thick and very well developed. The whole specimen is covered in silvery green chlorite but which leaves space for some white pericline to surface. Very nice and characteristic for the Austrian Alps! The piece was found on a collecting trip in 2003 by Heinz Kirchtag, Andreas Steiner, my father Anton Watzl sen. and myself, Rudolf Watzl.

It's hard to describe this specimen as it is much to 3-dimensional and complex for a picture. On our video you can see that this is a very massive cluster of well shaped, lustrous and transparent quartz that is heavily stacked to form this almost ball-like shape! What I like is the rich surface structure that makes this piece special. The condition is generally good with only some minor issues. A very particular specimen that might not be for everyone but is definitely rewarding and impressive in person!

TB7 - Quartz - Sold
Grieswies, Rauris, Pinzgau, Salzburg, Austria

The upper half of this stocky quartz crystal is brilliantly transparent, an effect that is even enhanced by the lustrous and lovely structured surface. The sharp termination is all flawless as is the rest of this fine crystal. The bottom is all healed and re-crystallized, leaving no fresh break visible. Around the base the crystal is obscured by internal cracks rendering it white. Definitely an impressive piece for a single crystal specimen!

FC59 - Strashimirite - Sold
Kronprinz Mine, Kamsdorf, Saalfeld, Thüringen, Germany
Size: 6.1 x 5 x 3 cm

Strashimirite is a very uncommon copper mineral that does not come in larger crystals but only in fibrous variedies or, like in this case, botryoidal crusts. The piece at hand shows a broken open vug with an inner surface that is completely coated in mint-green strashimirite which again are encrusted in very thin sparkling colorless quartz. A nice locality piece with no damage.

This rather small iron rose is an astonishingly beautiful marvel! The hematite is of mirroring luster and perfectly well developed all around. It is completely free of damage and in fact a floater. Mörchnerkar is famous for great hematite specimen but pieces of such exceptionally high quality are of course extremely rare. But words at are a loss to describe a piece like this so go on and enjoy picture and video!

An elongated prismatic quartz crystal that is completely flawless and of good quality. The crystal is transparent with some internal clouds, it is lustrous on all sides and very sharp. The bottom is contacted yet not broken. A decent crystal from Hohe Tauern national park!

A rather massive quartz specimen of light yet distinctive smoky color. It is a combination of classic prismatic quartz with a large gwindel in the center. The piece has no damage, only some very small chips. The overall quality is not great but well enough with a lustrous and very well developed surface and a mostly clear crystal. This is a extremely rare gwindel from the Hohe Tauern region and of stunning size as well!

ZA1 - Quartz with Adularia - Sold
Amertal, Felbertal, Pinzgau, Salzburg, Austria

A fantastic combination of a large, water clear skeletal quartz on a snow white adularia matrix. The whole thing is a floater and undamaged all around. I actually find both the front and the back absolutely beautiful, with a different character but matching quality. The frontside shows the skeletal quartz in all its beauty, the backside scores with large and sharp adularia. The quartz is all perfect, intensively skeletallized yet still showing the typical quartz-termination. The adularia is sharp, translucent white and associated with some, but very little chlorite. Best quality meets unbeatable, unique aesthetics!
