Unusually bright golden color and a vivid sheen are most intriguing attributes of this remarkably well shaped gold specimen from Pontes e Lacerda. It shows an intertwined structure of skeletal growth with several nicely defined crystals on an elongated, elegant shape. This fine gold specimen is out of a completely new find from 2015 that has rapidly made a name for itself as a source for world class gold specimens. By now the site has been closed by police forces and a new supply of such high class gold is not expected. This is a completely undamaged attractive specimen all around that shows a dramatic quality and yellow color that is only characteristic for this fabulous find and superior to just about anything we have seen so far from Brazil!
This heavily etched topaz crystal is absolutely breathtaking! Completely gemmy, flawless all over and doubly terminated. While the shape reminds me almost of heliodor from Volodarsk, the beautiful champagne color is characteristic for topaz from Dassu. An incredibly well shaped and water-clear single crystal with not a single crack or impurity. Not much to say, I strongly recommend a look on our video, where you can see the full splendor in motion!
This sharp titanite is out of a unique find a couple of years ago that brougth this disctinctive specimens of untamed beauty. This piece is a rugged cluster of forest green titanite and tabular rusty hematite that is crystallized on all sides and near-perfect with only some contacts at the bottom. The surface is lustrous and to a certain part transparent. Besides internal cracks and inclusions, there are brilliant patches of appealing mossy green color. All in all this is a striking piece with the typicall character of the already famous find of exceptionally large and impressive titanite at Schwemmhäuslbruch in Austria.
A marvelous sculpturesque skeletal quartz, 360° etched and beautiful. The quartz is completely water-clear with thousands of sparkling faces and great structure. Finding any flaws here takes long and intensive search and results only in tiny chips at one or two spots. Almost invisible and definitely irrelevant on a striking piece like this. It's exceedingly hard to find these beautiful floater pieces from Felbertal so I am glad to present this bright and stunning specimen!
Black calcite from Herja is a unique and utterly appealing mineral variety. This is a complete and flawless floater, nicely ball-shaped of stacked, flattened calcite rhombs. The black color is due to inclusions of boulangerite and jamesonite which is unique for the locale. Perfect symmetry, sharp pyramidal terminations on both sides and unique black color makes this an outstanding specimen of classic European calcite. Elegant and appealing in person!
The composition of this smoky quartz "Faden" is quite unusual and absolutely amazing. One large fine quality crystal acts as the base for several other, doubly terminated crystals that decrease in size as they continue further up. At the center of this stack you can distinctly see the white "Faden", a column that seems to support the structure. The terminations of the quartz are covered in some green chlorite, while the rest of the crystals is lustrous and clear. Apart from some contacts at the bottom this specimen is in great condition and shows a dramatic visual impact!
A cluster of several quartz crystals, chaotically arranged but of nice quality and widely free of damage. Even the backside is fully crystallized, as are all contacted or broken faces. The terminations of some of the crystals seem a little rough but at closer view there is no fresh damage to be detected. The matrix at the background is a nice agglomeration of calcite and quartz. As a small gift you will find a red rutile, around 3 mm in size. This is a fine piece of very good crystal quality and an appealing 3-dimensional look!
Characteristic for Volodarsk-Volynskii this heliodor is gemmy and shows the nicely etched surface that is so famous for this locale. The color is a particularly vibrant gold with some greenish tinge to it. Being a floater this lovely specimen is etched all over and shows no damage anywhere. No downsides, just brilliant quality and distinctive aesthetics!
Pristine wet-look luster covers this completely gemmy single elbaite crystal! The color ranges from a lovely turquoise to an increasingly dark emerald green and ends in an almost opaque termination. The termination is pointed and sharp yet has some damage along the edge. Still the fantastic quality of this crystal more than makes up for this minor flaw and makes this an impressive single crystal specimen!
It's almost impossible to decide for a frontside at this fabulous hematite, as both sides are so very much attractive, flawless and 3-dimensionally developed. This specimen really deserves the description as iron rose for its delicate, lovely structure. The region around Fibbia is for sure the most fertile ground for great hematite of the "iron rose" habit but this very specimen is still far from ordinary. To get a better picture of this marvellous specimen I recommend our video, where thickness, luster and staggering elegance of this iron rose are much more vivid! This historic piece comes with several labels including one of the famous English geologist Nevil Story-Maskelyne from 1951.
Sparkling and contrasting, mirroring and sharp, classy and dashy! This combination of jet-black hematite, glassy quartz and some fire-red rutile is just fantastic in person! Like a nest the brilliant, clear quartz crystals are arranged around the mirroring hematite plates. The hematite is up to 2.7 cm in diameter and completely flawless. Tiny red rutile, a little over 2 mm in length, are typical for the locale. A highly attractive piece of best quality that is simply timeless!
Typical for Zinggenstock, this smoky quartz specimen shows absolutely best quality. Superb crystals of intensive brown color are grown on a starkly contrasting white matrix, studded with some lovely adularia. The largest quartz is 3.7 cm long, limpid and perfectly lustrous on all sides, as are all other crystals on this wonderful specimen. The matrix is cut at the bottom but all naturally broken at the sides with no damage and hardly any contacts. One tiny little issue: The larger crystal has a wilbur at the tip. All the rest is in absolutely perfect condition which I consider a miracle when thinking of the rather harsh conditions on the mountain. In short: fantastic!
