While most tourmaline specimens from this important region near the Paprok village are loose single crystals, this tourmaline is set on a beautiful matrix which separates it from the bulk. The matrix is an ideal arrangement of white albite and dark smoky quartz which very much supports the rainbow colored tourmaline! The tourmaline itself is a very catchy high class crystal and impresses with it's distinctive color zoning which is exceedingly rare in such fascinating extent! Pink, white, blue, green. Below that a zone of pale skin color over a dark green base. Very impressive, beautiful and unique, especially for its gemmy crystal quality. The crystal size is 3.3 x 2.5 cm which makes for a perfect proportion and nice cabinet size!
This single prominent Tokovaya river emerald crystal is 7,6 cm long and 1,2 cm thick and shows intensively green color from bottom to top! The quality is absolutely beautiful as well, especially towards the terminations where it gets increasingly glassy and bright!
The crystal is set on a characteristic black mica schist matrix with two smaller emerald side-crystals which makes for a perfectly balanced and super aesthetic specimen! Remarkably enough for such a long and free standing crystal it is NOT repaired or restored and free of any damage! This fact is even more exciting when considering that most crystals of comparable quality go to the cutter and are not preserved for the specimen collectors.
Our video shows a better 360° impression of the piece that has so much to offer in respect of crystal quality and aesthetics!
Super aesthetic top-notch aquamarine on snow white feldspar with spots of black schorl! The aquamarine comes as a cluster of three interlocked crystals the largest of which stands 6 cm tall with a diameter of 1.65 cm. It shows superb gemmy quality with a complex, highly lustrous and flawless termination. The water-blue color is realistic in the pictures and easily stands out from the white feldspar matrix. Sweeping aesthetics, exceptional crystal quality, best condition and very good hand-size all combine to an outstanding first grade specimen!
Just the way we like our tourmalines: Colorful, brilliant, impressive and with a bevelled, pointed termination! The base is encircled by attached side crystals like apple green oriels around the pink core. Further up, the crystal is getting even more stunning. As the color turns to an intense crome-green, the brilliance is getting truly exciting! Gemmy and lustrous to the most stunning extent! The termination is very well developed: A sharp pyramidal shape with a flawless tip and nice modifications. The specimen has one repair but is otherwise in very best condition. Marvelous and absolutely striking for its excellent quality and the sheer size!
In 2018 a new tourmaline pocket has been opened in the Pyingyi Taung region, somewhere close to the village Let Pan Hla, and the found specimens by far outshine all previous finds of this mineral in the region! The intensive cherry-red color as seen in the pictures is not exaggerated at all and best sparkling luster even emphasizes the pristine quality and aesthetics! Two prominent main crystals are set on a matrix, covered in smaller pink side-crystals and white feldspar. Both crystals are flawless, gemmy and of striking color! The crystals are about equal in size with around 2 cm in diameter and nicely contrast from the much smaller crystallized matrix. Most spectacular about this new find is but not the without question fantastic color but the exceptionally complex crystal architecture! The crystals are developed with almost unreal precission and sharpness, like CNC milled and polished to highest luster! The polyhedral crystals, the intensive cherry-red color and irresistible aesthetics make this a remarkable rarity of exceptional character. Absolutely mesmerizing and the best of the find!
This quartz in combination with mica is a unique and stunningly beautiful specimen of great museum size!
The single quartz crystal is colorless and transparent like glass with a beautifully structured and highly lustrous surface. It is accompanied by large translucent tabular mica and some snow-white feldspar at the bottom. The mica has a marvelous silvery shimmer to it that supports the superb quartz crystal in a gorgeous way!
The condition is amazingly good, only the tip has a very well done fill. I have seen a couple of nice quartz specimens coming from Myanmar but this is for sure the most dramatic and significant of them all! Have a look on our video for a better comprehension of quality and 3-dimensional shape!
It is without doubt an impressive eye-catcher that amazes with super brilliant quality and sheer size!
With a size of 10.6 cm, where alone the main crystal has almost 9.5 cm, this compact specimen is rather impressive! Most special however is the fantastic quality. The fine surface structure is highly lustrous und without even the slightest damage which is exceedingly rare for gwindel specimens! The quartz body is virtually free of internal cracks save for the very lowest parts where it is grown on a make-up of small quartz crystals. And even that matrix is near-perfect with only minor peripheral contacts! The crystals satiated, warm brown color enhances the clarity and luster in a nice way even at low illumination. Set on the nicely crystallized backside is a second gwindel which is piggyback carried by the main crystal and provides very much unique aesthetics! Combining great size, shape, clarity, color and overall perfection this is for sure one of the very best smoky quartz gwindels that I had the luck to obtain! After it was found at the Tiefen glacier it has been in the personal collection of the American collector Gene Meieran for the past 20 years or so.
The Shingus area has produced some of the finest väyrynenite specimens the world has seen. But still this material is extremely rare and almost all pieces on the market are either unattractive clumps or, if you are lucky, nice but tiny crystals.
This piece is impressive 5.6 cm long, sharp, gemmy and of intensive pink to orange color!
An outstanding specimen for the rare material that strikes with size and quality alike!
There is a small ding at the terminations side but which is contact induced rather than damaged and is hardly discernible at all. The main chisel-tip is all perfect and sharp! There are three repairs in the lower half.
Despite these small issues this is a rather spectacular specimen for the material. Especially the upper region is completely clear and without even the smallest inclusion. The color is rather strong and open, just as you can see it in the pictures and our video. A fantastic specimen of exceptional quality that is close to impossible for this rare species!
This tremendous emerald green tourmaline is gemmy from bottom to top and needs only very little backlight to reveal its mesmerizing quality! All sides show superb luster right up to the termination which is somewhat frosted but very well developed and undamaged! The overall condition is great with only few very minimal abrasions at the sides. A side-crytal at the backside is broken but re-healed and not visible from the front. Apart from that the crystal is in exceptionally fine shape with no repairs or fills. Massive size, gorgeous quality and absolutely brilliant green color make this a vibrant crystal of great impact!
Pink octahedral fluorite from this deposit has been known for some time now, but in summer this year (2019) the Huanggang Mine has set a new level for this mineral! A large number of fluorite crystals has been unearthed some of which reach dramatic size and rich pink color! Still, the large majority of crystals are rather pale in comparison. Nice, but not great.
This heavy weight specimen on the other hand has what it takes: the glassy crystal needs only very little backlight illumination to reveal the dark cherry red color that is so rarely found! The single octahedral crystal is very well defined and dominant. Some smaller attached fluorites are important for the overall aesthetics. The surface is lustrous and beautifully structured. A thin layer right beneigh that surface is somewhat clouded but below that, the crystal is all clear and vibrant! Apart from a contact at the backside, this specimen is all complete and in best condition. Remarkable for a piece of such tremendous size and quality! Fluorite at its best!
With a total length of 52 cm this rock coverend in highest quality smoky quartz is downright spectacular!
Found around the year 1984 by Georg Kandutsch, the so called "Eiskluft" (German for ice-cleft) at the Hocharn west slope counts as one of the very few, most important smoky quartz finds of the Eastern Alps! While in Switzerland this mineral is relatively common, smoky quartz finds in the Eastern Alps are almost impossibly rare and highly coveted!
The specimens of this find have been secured deep inside a narrow cleft, high up on the mountains side, hidden in plain ice. Retrieving the quartz under harshest, life-threatening conditions, roped up and with propane burners, was unimaginably dangerous, difficult and demanding!
Struck with awe we now present this exceptional specimen that is one of just around 5 comparable pieces.
With supreme quality, intriguing crystal development, richness of detail and monumental size this specimen is just mindblowing overall! The largest crystal of the piece is 10 cm large and incredibly beautyfully developed with stepped growth, razor-sharp edges and supurb luster! Incredibly, for a piece of such dramatic size, it is a complete floater, crystallized all around and in very best condition. Small ankerite crystals around the periphery add to the total package that is already bursting with details. Absolutely fantastic in person!
This outstanding topaz is the centerpiece of a spectacular 2017 find near a farm in Fazenda do Centro, Brazil. Over 80 kg of pure topaz were unearthed before the site got depleted once and for all. This crystal is a real monster and completely perfect without even the smallest damage and wonderfully etched all around! The skeletal shape is incredibly 3-dimensional with caves and cavities and clefts and vugs, all summing up to a 33 cm high mountain! A staggering highlight about this piece is also the color! While the left and right side show a distinct champagne color, the centre completely changes to a light blue that stretches out right up to the multi-peaked summit! This bi-color development on a piece of such immense size is something that surpasses everything else on the market or in the history books by far! The surface is all lustrous and beautifully structured, as much as you can wish for. The bottom, the backside and absolutely everything on this specimen is crystallized and just incredibly attractive in person! The crystals body is flawless to the bone, having no impurities or internal cracks! This is the absolute superlative of topaz!
