This is a beautiful bi-colored crystal from the classic Malkhan pegmatite. The more common cherry red at the lower half developes into a gemmy golden part further up which really strikes with its open color and the great transparency! The termination again is a pinkish red with a pointed pyramidal shape! The whole crystal is complete and flawless. The backside prism face holds some minimal mica around the base, the rest is just pure and straight tourmaline that shows all its beauty even in ordinary room light!
This is a rare combination of plancheite and dioptase which offers a nice visual contrast. Highly lustrous and sharply designed green dioptase is set on a matrix of turquoise or light blue plancheite. Prominently placed at the top is the largest group of dioptase with single crystals reaching 1.2 cm in length. The backside is naturally broken so there is an obvious main view here which is absolutely gorgeous indeed!
One sharply defined topaz crystal of exceptional design and quality comfortably sits on a sweeping matrix of milky quartz, surrounded by white feldspar. The crystal is completely glassy without even the slightest cracks or inclusions! The elegant champagne color is easily visible and contrasts to the white quartz. Most striking however is the polyhedral architecture that results in a large number of shiny faces in all different angles. Absolute perfection set on an appropriate scenery!
A classic cerussite from one of the very best locales for the mineral! The specimen shows beautiful and distinctively developed snow-flake character and an overall very nice aesthetics with intergrown matrix. The condition is fine with smaller issues here and there but nothing serious at all. The cerussite shows a pale yellow tinge, very good luster and really a lovely and characteristic structure. Very distinctive and appealing in person!
Instead of "just" being a single crystal, this tourmaline is set on a kind of tourmaline shard, a piece that obviously was part of a larger crystal that broke off and completely re-healed on all sides. The bi-colored crystal is gemmy and lustrous with a flat termination. It is completely free of damage. An unusual specimen from this famed locale!
Tormiq is well known for its Alpine type titanite specimens and you can easily see why. This rock matrix is richly covered in grass-green titanite twins up to around 1.5 cm in size. What is very intriguing about the aesthetics here is the divided main view which features said titanite wealth but also a zone of white calcite and albite which nicely contrasts with the green zone. However, the titanite is of very fine quality, lustrous, gemmy and flawless. Unusual composition meets superb quality!
This excellent cassiterite on mica from Mt. Xuebaoding strikes with absolutely best aesthetics! The single cassiterite crystal is sharply cut and with just brilliant luster! The black crystal is set atop a beautiful matrix of white adularia and sivery tabular muscovite. The muscovite is nicely arranged and composes a fantastic, well balanced base for the main crystal! There is no damage to be found here, only some peripheral contacts but which is invisible from the main view!
Composed of hundreds of little pyrite crystals, this is a gorgeous little specimen that presents its very unique shape! The central part is a rhombic shape, probably resulting from a first generation crystal overgrown with small pyrites. The brass yellow pyrite is of very best luster and nicely developed with sparkling striations! The sculpturesque cluter sits on a small piece of black matrix with some dolomite coating. Best condition, super quality and an overall very much appealing shape!
Unusually bright golden color and a vivid sheen are most intriguing attributes of this remarkably well shaped gold specimen from Pontes e Lacerda. It shows an intertwined structure of skeletal growth with several nicely defined crystals on an overall organic, elegant shape. This fine gold specimen is out of the spectacular 2015 find that brought a number of outstanding specimens before it was shut down by governmental forces. This is a completely undamaged, very much attractive specimen all around that shows a dramatic quality and yellow color that is only characteristic for this fabulous find and superior to just about anything we have seen so far from Brazil!
While most crocoite specimens are complex clusters of small crystals, this specimen is quite the opposite: One huge and impressive crystal of fire-orange color and fantastic translucent quality! The main part is a sharply cut prismatic crystal which turns a little more playful and filigree towards the termination. Surprisingly this whole crystal is in very best condition with one small issue on the lower third but a completely flawless termination. This is a remarkable crocoite from an older find that strikes with its sheer size!
This epidote is a floater specimen, composed of massive crystals. It is a construct of intergrown parallel crystals with a sharp chisel-tip termination which gives it the appearance of a rocket! The crystal is transparent at direct backlight with a patchwork of green and brown colors as is characteristic for the mineral! Apart from minor edge-wear and a contact on the side this piece is all complete and in very fine condition. An impressive specimen in person!
Had I designed this thing, it would be no different! Best textbook aesthetics of one main quartz crystal on a perfectly crystallized matrix of pericline. The quartz is simply perfect: Exceptionally sharp and glassy with beautiful chlorite inclusions and thin side-crystals sticking out from its side to even improve this amazing picture! The quartz is set on a single 6.6 cm long pericline that looks somehow weathered due to some chlorite but is completely developed all around. The whole piece is in exceptional condition. Although it had to be repaired after it went off the pericline this is hardly visible and there are no chips or abrasions on the main crystal. With best quality and outstanding composition this is a stunner from a very much uncommon locale!
