This highly aesthetic fluorite specimen is from a new find at the Erongo Mountains. It features a very well presented main crystal at the top with a diameter of 2.5 cm. The crystals are all very well shaped, sharp and with a somewhat frosted luster. Especially the larger main crystal shows a beautiful mix of green color at the core with purple towards the surface which is easily visible as the crystals is transparent to the core! The fluorites are set on a feldspar matrix with silvery muscovite coating and a single quartz side-crystal. All of this makes for an exceptionally beautiful piece of best condition and quality!

This fine little single crystal euclase is completely gemmy and highly lustrous and in outstanding condition! It is basically colorless but with a faint golden tinge that makes it even more elegant. But it's not only about the high quality and the distinctive architecture. Also the fact that the bottom is not broken but crystallized and intergrown with some very nice mica is an excellent detail that sets this piece apart from others! The condition is near perfect with only a little rough edge but no actual damage. This is an absolutely amazing little crystal!

Another one of those mines is the Serpieri Mine which is the type locality of glaucocerinite, an extremely rare mineral that can only be found in a handfull of mines worldwide! The mineral displays intensive turquoise-blue color on a surface of botryoidal crystals with a waxy luster. This floater shard is covered on front and backside in glaucocerinite and is largely intact. Beautiful bright color and the sheer rarity makes this specimen special!

The rich purple color of this apatite is absolutely beautiful and it comes with a bright luster and in a well shaped crystal! Especially the prism faces display this intensive purple that is easily visible at normal room light but definitely reward some direct downlight. If you look from the apatite’s top you can see the hexagonal structure of the crystal. From this perspective it has the best wet-look luster while the purple gives way to a colorless zone with greenish inclusions. It’s a vivid and completely flawless crystal on matrix.

Bornite is an extremely rare copper iron sulphide which typically comes as formless grey clumps. The main crystal on this specimen however has a diameter of 2.5 cm and shows distinctive octahedral crystal shape! This size is rather exceptional for the species and in this case it is also beautifully set on a contrasting white quartz matrix with small bornite side-crystals!

YK401 - Adamite - 3500€
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Mun. de Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Size: 16.2 x 9.4 x 6.5 cm
Watch Video

A large and dominant specimen of adamite on brown limonite gossan matrix that is absolutely rich with sparkling and glassy adamite! There are actually two different types of adamite present. The larger aggregate on the left half consists of tightly packed lime green adamite. A smaller aggregate on the right half shows a darker yellow color that looks incredibly similar to legrandite. As a matter of fact, we bought the piece with a label that says “adamte, legrandite” but which ultimately proved wrong in our examination. The whole specimen is all naturally developed with a crystallized backside. There is some minor damage at the upper part of the lime green adamite but most of which is older, not freshly broken.

WQ334 - Halite - 260€
Polkowice-Sieroszowice mine, Polkowice County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland
Size: 8.5 x 7.7 x 4.7 cm

Halite, more commonly referred to as rock-salt, is nothing more than crystallized sodium chloride and thus not only brittle but also water-soluble. But this also makes beautifully crystallized and sculpturesque specimens like this rare. According to former owner of the piece, copper mineral collector Thomas Weiland, this specimen comes with inclusions of tolbachite, an extremely rare copper-chloride.
This specimen is in outstanding condition, extremely well crystallized and without any damage.

Two loose pieces of host rock are connected by an arborescent growth of shiny copper which creates this unique look that remotely resembles a cyclist every time I look at it. The condition and quality both are extremely well while the composition is certainly unique and highly attractive!
Ex Thomas Weiland collection!
