One single smoky quartz crystal of dark brown color stands out from a piece of characteristic Habach Valley schist matrix. It is around 4 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm large and flawless. The crystal is accompanied by several smaller side-crystals of matching quality. Still, the main crystal is the unmistakable center of this specimen and dramatically draws the attention to it! This highly aesthetic specimen is from the famous find from around 1993 by Alois Steiner and Reinhard Heim, the latter of whom had the piece in his private collection!
A unique and most attractive piece from this famous locale that is most prominently known as Europs best source for specimen quality emerald!
This rather small quartz specimen is particularly nice and impressive due to the distinctive rutile needles it carries. The water clear and highly lustrous quartz is interspersed with remarkably thick rutile needles, which are easy to see through the broad front face. The piece is in very good condition, although not quite perfect. A small abrasion can be seen on the upper edge. The back is covered with fine albite and rutile needles which makes it an overall highly appealing miniature!
Sharp translucent white adularia crystals and porcelaine colored pericline are well balanced and richly interlocked on this combination specimen. While adularia is a bit more dominant here, the pericline constitutes the base and provides a contrast: Not of color but of crystal shape.
As I turn the piece around I can't find any damage. Even the bottom is fully crystallized and fine. A lovely specimen of alpine feldspar!
This large and dominant crystal is in superb condition with only minimal abrasions on very few spots. Luster and clarity are just beautiful and there are hardly any internal cracks as well. The backside is overgrown with quartz micro-crystals which looks a bit rough but is all undamaged. At the completely re-healed base it has some feldspar association which adds much to the aesthetics. A piece of high quality and elegant appeal!
This is a splendid matrix specimen of fine rutilated quartz with a 5.6 cm main crystal. The specimen is beautifully crystallized on all sides with white periclin on a rock matrix. As you can see in the picture, the luster and clarity of the quartz are absolutely terrific and allow a great view into the lively interior, where sharp rutile needles grow out of an iron oxide-orange lower area. The whole thing is accompanied by a beautiful matrix with brilliant periclins. The crystal is largely perfect with only an abrasion on the side.
A single floater crystal of nice olive green titanite with a minimal association of feldspar and chlorite around the base. It is a doubly terminated twin crystal and in very best condition with only one rough patch that might be contacted or perhaps slightly chipped. The rest is sharp and lustrous and really just impressive!
Highly appealing from an aesthetical point of view! The 7.5 cm main crystal strikes with a glassy and highly lustrous body and a sharp pointed termination! It is flawless with only a contact at the back. Side-crystals are largely intact too and show the same high quality! The contrast with the feldspar rich matrix is lovely and really makes this a wonderful specimen!
This well shaped sceptre quartz shows brilliant luster and clarity. The head is sharp and shows a nice surface structure as you can see on our picture and video. It has some rough parts and edged here and there. Some of that is slightly chipped but most is just contact induced and natural. The sceptre stem has a crust of feldspar and limonite which adds some contrast and emphasizes the head. A very attractive specimen in overall great condition!
One single fluorite cube of dark purple color is set on a contrasting and sparkling shard of quartz covered barite which again is set on a piece of limestone matrix. The fluorite is sharp and well defined with a silky surface. A patch on the front face is contacted, not freshly broken. Apart from that it's flawless. A highly aesthetic and lovely specimen!
It is simply impossible to capture the beauty of this single crystal quartz on a picture. You always see the rough backside through the completely limpid and immensely lustrous crystal which makes it look like the front was rough as well. But, as you can better see in our video or even better in person, the front is absolutely top notch quality and there is not a single scratch on this crystal! The backside is intergrown with quartz and rutile micro-crystals which is beautiful as well. An absolutely lovely crystal that gets better the more you look at it!
This is a pristine and aesthetic group of crystal clear and highly lustrous quartz crystals in almost perfect condition. Only the leftmost crystal is damaged at the tip, but this is in fact not visible from the front. The quartz group sits asymmetrically on a silver shimmering piece of matrix and is accompanied by a small calcite crystal. Amazingly beautiful in person!
A lovely high quality skeletal quartz that shows beautifully structured surface with brilliant luster, especially on the front! The crystal body itself is completely water-clear. Only near the backside are some chlorite inclusions which look beautiful when looked upon from the front and through the glassy crystal. The whole specimen is virtually flawless with a crystallized bottom.
